I am about to get my driver's license. All I have left to take is the written test as I have already passed my driving test. I was wondering how difficult the test was for all of you.

So what I want you to tell me is where you are from and how hard your location's written license test was.

USA here and the driving test was pretty easy. I pretty much aced it. I don't think that they like to give perfects. I was marked down for "almost" touching the median line and and for being a couple inches closer to the front car than the back car while parallel parking.

UK here, I had to take the written before the practical, but "written" is a misnomer, it;s a 4-way multi-answer test, 30/35 gets you a pass. I passed my theory second time, with 33, and then my practical first go.

USA, NYC. If you fail the written test, you fail life...or don't speak whatever language you took it in. Seriously, one of the questions was "What do you do at a STOP sign?"

Well, I can't say how hard your test will be, because the Australian system (and every state and territory therein) is different from yours. However, the knowledge tests are mainly common sense... i.e you see a cyclist in the same lane in front of you. Should you overtake them? Or 'what does this street sign mean?' Or, who has right of way at this intersection? You should check the website of your roads and traffic authority, they should have at the very least a guideline for general knowledge tests andd requirements to gain your licence.

UK, it's pretty much common sense. People usually ace it 1st time with no revision at all (I mean it's not hard really... somebody is backing out of a road in front of you, do you: A, keep going; B, go around him; C, honk your horn in anger; or D, wait patiently?... PS: the answer's all of the above ).

If you have passed your practical then your theory should be a cinch. I'm in the UK, and passed the theory almost perfectly. However I failed my practical twice. Oh well, 3rd time lucky...

Driver's license exams in The Netherlands are quite rigorous and difficult (not to mention expensive) that can last up to 40 minutes, driving in just about every environment (highway, within a city, outside, parking and other maneuvers..).

The training these days are really really good, but unfortunately, most of the drivers have obtained their license through the 1960, 70s and 80s where it wasn't particularly difficult. Those are a serious problem in this country's traffic.. but I'm going offtopic.

Can't get my license yet(in florida) I'm 16(the min age) but I took my sweet time getting my permit, which you need for a year before you can get your license. I got my permit 3 weeks before my 16th birthday

Australia, NSW at the time, and it was easy as pie. I scored 100% on it (it's actually a computer test).

The actual driving test was harder coz I was tripping out about it!

The driving segment was fairly easy. The only hard part was the fact that my gym teacher was the instructor. He made me parallel park between two cars that were extremely close together, and I was in a SUV!

The Australian is a lot different, too. We don't have a driving component before we go for our learner licence, we just have to do a basic road rules test. Then we go on driving lessons with a supervising driver.

Then there are two more driving tests before we get get our full licence.

Tried my prac. 5 times, and still not passed. I've given up now until after university. I still can't believe some of the things they failed me on. The test difficulty is ridiculous, and not even remotely constant between the different test-centres (a pass rate of 38.64% is not a good statistic; basically everyone must fail at least twice in my local centre).

Germany here, I failed first practical cause I almost killed a cyclist. And since then I hate them even more -.- During my second I was lucky, cause it was raining and no cyclists were around.
Written was easy, as said before, most of it is common sense (for some signs you might want to check on special rules)

New York, U.S.A. here and he's not joking, they show you a picture of the sign and ask you what it means. "Man, what does this sign with stop on it mean?!?"
Just remember this, it's not rocket science, just use your brain, I hope you have common sense, as that's all it is. NEVER ask yourself what the guy in front of you does, as most drivers (New Yorkers at least) are the most inane waste of resources ever allowed to drive. My motorcycle test was a bit harder, as I took it before I learned to ride, but I can't recall my class D(Car) license as well. Hey, I got it over a decade ago. Since you passed the actual driving test, you'll be fine, they give you multiple choices. Have fun (WARNING: Don't have fun, DMV personel are not used to fun, and may think it's terrorism).

USA here, the written test here was a joke. I probably could have aced it without even glancing at the material. It was all common sense.

You must have done it a few years back then because I'm from the UK and my theory (written) test was out of 50, pass mark was 45. I managed to beat it with flying colours when I took it last year, actually did it before starting my lessons so I still need to pass the actual practical test. Need a few more lessons though because my first instructor wasn't any good. Reliable, but we didn't move forward after 20 lessons with her (no pun intended). I actually learnt three new maneuvres in 2 hours and managed to remember them with my new instructor, who said that it was rare for anyone to actually manage that.
