I remember on the written test, there was a troll question:

When do pedestrians have the right of way?

a. Only at designated crosswalks
b. On sidewalks only
c. When the Walk Signal Light is On
d. Pedestrians always have the right of way.

Needless to say, after I read the answers, they almost kicked me out for laughing maniacally.

My mate failed his test for not looking in his mirrors because he didn't move his head. Just his eyes.

He got really angry because technically the instructor should have taken him straight back to the police station (You do your tests out of a police station in Rural QLD) and when he argued that he did look the instructor said "Well that may be the case but as you're being examined it's your responsibility to make it obvious that you're looking in the mirrors not my responsibility to make sure you are."

Then when the instructor asked when he wants to schedual his next test he laughed in her face and said "Fuck off ***** I'll take my business elsewhere" and the following week his dad drove him 3 hours to the next testing centre and he passed with full marks.

The old man who took me for my test was like a caricature of a normal old man. He was everything you'd expect an ageing man to be like, but more. I had to perform a parallel park and didn't do the best job, but it was good enough. At the end of the test he turned to me and said "Well... you really messed up on that parallel park". He kinda shouted it but in a dull tone. I had to hold back my laughter and, after a long pause, said "...yes". He then shouted "WELL, YOU PASSED", sounding very angry and confused as he said it. He then gave me a strange glance (similar to The Rock's 'the people's eyebrow') and left the car to go talk to my instructor. I was befuddled

Apparently driving instructors don't allow provisions for using the Force in driving tests. As a Sith I intend to register a complaint based on religious discrimination. Also my religion does not recognise innate value in human life and condones the killing of those who stand in my way so failing me for hitting those people at that Zebra Crossing is illegal.

Seriously: I'm currently learning to drive and it's a pain. I can drive pretty well, but I regularly forget to check in my wing mirrors before turning, and I have a tendency to be over cautious at junctions. I was once hit by a car when I misjudged the traffic while crossing a road on foot, and ever since then I can take forever to cross a busy road.

no funny stories. Driving tests are extremely easy.

But my first permit expired so it took me til' 17 to take the test.
