*disclaimer* (I have not used the search bar and I don't care if this has been done before)

There is a term I hear used a lot and that is the term "Drunk on Food". Now by this I mean you get giddy and happy after a large meal. I know this happens to me so I'm wondering if you Escapists also have it happen to you. Also you can apparently "Get drunk on Chocolate"

I have never heard this expression or ever seen or heard of the effects. I know about being drunk on alcohol or power, but that's about it.

Oh and blood, from that Children of Bodom album.

I ate about 4 chocolate bars in 2 minutes, I couldn't think or even talk properly.

I guess I do get drunk on food...

Only if that food has been thoroughly soaked in alcohol. But I somehow doubt it has to do with the food.

(warning, science content) well chemically it's possible, just looking at food causes a small release of dopamine in the brain, eating causes even more and chocolate stimulates the release of endorphines so...I suppose it's possible. I haven't heard the phrase very often though, I'll admit.

Sure why not, in fact all emotions we experience are just chemical reactions in the brain. It was really quite depressing to figure out what happiness was just serotonin with some dopamine sometimes. And what is even more alarming, is the with MDMA you can turn your serotonin receptors on into overtime, and have intense feelings of happiness. But meh, we are all just biological machines anyways, so only makes sense I guess.
