I only just got a DS the other day and since im left handed im having trouble playing a few games. ie. Metroid, I found you can change the controls but can you do this for all games?

Its a little offputting. Or is there someway to hold the stylus or something which makes it more comfortable?

Does anyone else have issues with this?

Well, some games, like Metroid, have a Southpaw setting.
Of course, I'm a weird lefty in that I do things with more intense finger dexterity, like writing and drawing, with my left hand, but general activities, like opening doors and holding objects, with my right. Its part of the reason I'm so bad with mouse-controlled FPSs...

Knowing Nintendo, they'd either put a setting in for left-handers or make the controls simple enough to be duplicated for either hand.

Well as a lefty I CAN say that the DS is uncomfortable, but I think I could adapt the same why I have to adapt to being a lefty doing anything. I mean I don't have a left handed controller for my PS3. That would be stupid. LOL

I don't find it too difficult, but then, I don't actually own one, so I've never tried writing with it, or really anything more complex than clicking.

I'm certain most games that require you to tilt the DS vertically have options for left handed people, other DS games, i'm not sure.

that's weird, I'm left handed and I STILL hold it the way a normal gameboy is held.
If anything, it's helped me develop my right hand a bit better!

I'm left handed and I don't have a problem with the DS' setup at all.

EDIT: Oh, your talking about holding the DS and the stylus. Fuck that. I just use my fingernail.

Haha, same. I eat, write, throw, and things like that with my left hand. But I use my right hand for a mouse.

Holy crap! i'm the same. In everyday life i'm pretty ambidextrous, til it comes to precision and detail.

Yep im like that but I cant write or use the stylus with the right hand with any accuracy.

But anyway.. if most games have a 'southpaw' setting I should be ok.

That's why I only cut my index fingernail once a month.

I have problems with most games too. Luckily all the first party titles have a lefty mode. You have to be more careful about 3rd party stuff though because not all of them have a lefty mode (and if they do it just feels wonky).

Never switched the mouse settings?
