I would recommend Devil Survivor, Strange Journey and Infinite Space, because I don't own a DS and am envious of people who have played these games.
I just had to comment because I have a love-hate relationship with all three of these.
Devil Survivor, first run was mostly fun. Didn't try to get the other endings. The tactical battle feels very slow to me for some reason, making the EXP grind feeling longer than it actually is, and I stopped because of this. The demon variety was also a tad lacking.
Strange Journey is mostly a good game. My only problem with it is that I feel that there's very, very little difference in the personal experience between all three paths, since we will end up doing more or less the same things each time through the game, even if you decide to stick to an alignment early.
Infinite Space, sigh. I really liked this when I started playing, and I still think of it fondly, but IMO, this is a very flawed game. There's probably more, but from what I can immediately remember:
* I liked the characters and to some extent, the story, but I feel that most of the characters were never developed.
* Unless I missed something, the best way to earn money at that point is to have lots of ships with as much cargo space as you can afford and fly a long route. That is horribly dull. Worse, you'll need to do a lot of this if you want some of the nicer toys later in the game.
* Instant death dungeons where you just lose if you decide to take the wrong turn.
Some personal favourites of mine:
1) Castlevania series. I enjoyed Order of Ecclessia the most, and I hated Dawn of Sorrow. Portrait of Ruin was enjoyable.
2) World Ends With You. Something different and refreshing and mostly fun. I hated the minigame stuff, but meh, I always hate minigame stuff in my RPGs =P
3) Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords. Mostly fun, and I never thought I'd actually enjoy a Bejeweled clone in any form.
4) Glory of Heracles. If you can find this cheap, probably. I'm not sure exactly why I liked this so much, but I did.
5) Super Robot Taisen Original Generation Saga Endless Frontier. As per an earlier poster, it's mostly simple fun. The sequel is by far more fantastic, but sadly, it hasn't been translated into English.
6) Shin Megami Tensei Strange Journey. Discussed above.
