ok so I was playing my DS(the original) and when I went to put the volume up and the sound was coming out of the right side but next to none from the left, do any of you know how to fix this? This also seems to be happening with the headphones I had it plugged into with at the time.

P.S. can you try to avoid simply saying 'just buy a new one' because I've owned a DS lite but it broke and from my expieriences I was constantly turning it off by accident and I'm not gonna touch a DSi because they don't have the GBA slot.

yeah I think that might do more bad than good
That's the only thing I can think of, so unless you're willing to call tech support or get a new one, its your best bet.

I'd say take it apart, but DSes are pretty solid and probably hard to tinker with, unlike my 360 which is currently running despite all the pieces being strung about my entire bedroom. Might be worth a try though, see if there's any YouTube vids of people tinkering.

Call tech support
Take it into a local game shop (perhaps the one where you bought it?) and ask them
Take it apart yourself and try to fix

If it was simpy the speaker it wouldn't be having the same result when you put headphone in, froma process of elimination it would have to be either an path which tells the sound to go to the left speaker/earphone has been split or damaged or you've HAD A SEIZURE.

Call tech support ive dealt with a TONNE (almost literally) of DS faults in my line of work and i have a feelin that's what they'd say, a reason behind the fault could potentially be some sort of water damage.

if you unscrew the battery compartment there's a tab underneath, if it's polkadot coloured theres no water damage but if its pink there has been at some point.
