Whats the point..If I legally pay for a game from Japan or wherever I should have the right to play it on my system..I paid for it.

Plus this move seems to stifle indie developers and people who develop their own apps or whatever.

there's rarely any game on the DS that's worth the hassle and if there is it's already been in every important inch of the world. mind you hacking region locks do provide good sale control in the long run, the consumer may not be happy but the company can focus on what game should be distributed which way, by what time, etc, etc. (chrono trigger and the first five final fantasies have broken the mold and no one can forget the "_____Of mana" series...you know the one JRPG worth a damn since the battles weren't turn-based?)

one would think this is wise except nintendo still thinks that the mother series will only sell in japan so coming from them region locking is a load of shit and chips with a small cup of acidic piss.

I'm heavily against this decision, then again I'll probably import the DSI through via blackmarket/Famitsu-ports just for the shits and giggles.

Sony goes region free with a home console and Nintendo locks down regions on a portable.

Fucking weird world this is becoming.

Now where's that internet nerd backlash? I don't like this sort of move, smacks of desperation and seems a bit unnecessary.
