Did you play the demo?

I did, and I wouldn't pay $10 for the game. Maybe $5.
Yeah, I liked the demo. Made me laugh, and it brought back good memories of run n gun gameplay. I hated the 2 weapons, though, and I don't mind regenerating health.

I say you should get it then. $25 for a game you enjoy is a great price.
Decided to wait. With it just barely a month old, and already on sale for 1/2 off, I think I can wait a bit longer. The game will probably drop down even more later on in the year, and I may even grab a lot cheaper come X-mas.

Or you could get the Serious Sam Double Pack.

Twice the amount of games, more fun, more gun, more run, faster, prettier, longer, more phallic-joke-worthy for half the price.

Your call.

Read topic title. Part of me wants it for laughs, part of me wants it because I'm a Duke Nukem fanboy, and part of me wants it because it's Duke Nukem Forever, the game nobody thought would ever come out.

Tell me, Escapist, is it worth it?!
Download and play the demo first.

If you're not disgusted by the end of it I'd say go for it, but it'll likely be discounted more in the christmas sale.

Aw, man. Neverwinter Nights 2 is on sale. And I just bought it...
Contact Steam support. Sometimes they can be nice about that sort of thing.

Just remember the rule of thumb: never buy random games until the last day of the sale, because that exact thing might happen :)

The sale hadn't started yet when I bought it. It was a few days before it.
I don't know if I can bring myself to ask them to change my purchase retroactively to the discount price. I'd feel kind of...petty. It's just the fact that it happened is more annoying than anything. I'm not exactly strapped for cash.

OP, if this is the case, you would have far more fun with NWN2.

My friend got DNF, and he said he would have had more fun watching the $60 burn before his eyes. I don't take that as an endorsement

I'm sure the price will drop lower than $25 much sooner than you think... wait until it's $5.

I might grab it when it reaches that price.. but even then.. I will probably be playing something else.

Wait until it hits $5. For $5 I can see someone getting some enjoyment out of it. As it stands, it's pretty undeniably a piece of shit (FYI: I've beaten the campaign on Normal, and played a little multiplayer).

I would have a hard time recommending it for $10...

Everything in DNF is somehow worse than in DN3D.
£15 isn't worth it for a joke and some bad humour which is nothing like you remember.

Well, if you get them to pay you 25$ for buying that game, then yeah, totally :)

if you liked the old duke games and you're tired of the current wave of "realistic shooters" it's a good pick up
...really?! The game is a massive and horrible leap to making Duke more realistic, 2 guns and he dies ultra fast, nothing about the game suggests a relation to the old duke with hectic fun combat

DO THIS. Listen, if you're looking for old school Duke Nukem gameplay...you won't find in Duke Nukem Forever. Not even close. Sure it won't have Pig Cops and hooker, but Serious Sam is closer to a Duke Nukem game than Duke Nukem Forever was. Not to mention that Serious Sam 3 is coming out, so if you play these games and like them you might want to consider picking it up. Also, perhaps you can find some friends to play the game with you, since it has co-op.

If you really want to play DNF I'd suggest waiting awhile, the price will eventual go down to 10 probably.
