In the City of York in the United Kingdom, it is still legal to shoot a Welshman within the city walls providing you use a longbow. Not one I'd recommend trying.
In the UK in general, you are allowed to beat your child as long as you don't leave bruising.
This came into conflict with one of the local laws where I live (North Cornwall) in that if children are caught out after 7pm you are allowed to beat them with a oak branch, provided that no other part of the body touched them.
Theres another old law (was changed a while back now) that states any man who kills a sheep will lose possession of his wife.
Perhaps not pointless, but very odd.

Also, a taxi should always have a bale of hay in the back.
And, I forget where, but it's totally fine to commit murder in a certain place in the UK. So long as the person is Scottish, you kill them from a certain place, with a box and arrow only. I can't be bothered to look it up.
