Material gatherers in the Earth 21XX series.

"Oh, I'm being shot at? And this little button here is what I need to use to fight back? Nah, I'll just call for help from halfway across the map while the remainder of the military fights off ANOTHER assault on the base, even though there's no chance in hell the enemy could make that many units in that small of a time."

Frickin' damaged beyond all repair.

What everyone in this thread is forgetting is the fact that even though all the AI's they've mentioned are terrible, they still worked to a small degree. However, in Big Rigs: Over the Road Racing, there is no AI. The truck you're supposed to be racing sits at the starting line in every mission.

Foot soldiers (I.E. Marines) in Starcraft.

"Hey guys, we should try marching in groups rather than straight lines; when we march in squares, we can all fire at once rather than filtering into the enemy base and being slowly destroyed one by one."

"Shut up, queer."
Dragoons from Starcraft.

Even if you are a master of micro you will have at least 1/3rd of them running around like chickens with their heads cut off.
Zerglings are worse because they are melee and never even get to hit once if they defense is good enough,if the 800 of them went at once it would steam roll their entire base but alas they would be distracted, disperse and die!

The enemies from one of the Hitman games, I don't remember which one. But once they spotted me, so I ran back in to the building and they were like "Where did he go?" It was ridiculous.

Mercs 2: World in Flames

No matter how you look at it they are dumb. I've lost missions becuase of the A.I. Stupidity.

For instance I needed to escort someone and gave them the command "follow me". He says "roger" and promptly runs AWAY from me and
falls off a nearby dock into the water where he drowns. Almost funny.

Heh, I remember playing Lords of Magic on the PC. Just starting out the game, and the lord of Death wiped out the lord of Chaos. So all his troops went rogue, and a few turns into the game their super mega legendary creature comes wandering over to my city. It's level 15, which is as high as they go, and I had a few level 3 archers. The Chaos Hydra charged, hit a wall, and couldn't figure out how to go around. So for a half hour, one hp at a time, my handful of archers killed one of the biggest creatures in the game.

The nameless chaps in Half-life 2. Alyx is pretty good for an AI, but everyone else just sucks so much ass.

"Stop shooting me!"
"Well then dont jump in front of me while Im shooting."
Besides if you had 3 or more they couldnt co-ordinate themselves well enough to get through a simple doorway.
