Recently bored and now with internet, i decided to try out a MMO.
I saw that the Escapist was Advertising Vindictus so i tried it out and liked it.
But browsing through the Nexion main site i noticed a MMO i had heard of before but never really got into, Dungeon Fighter Online.
I decided to give it a try and now im hooked.

Its a absolute BLAST.
A strange mix of Arcade Beat Em Up, Fighting Game, and MMORPG, it works amazingly well.

It has a cool set of Characters, each with their own Sub-Classes they can master once you reach a certain level, and a massive variety of Skills and Attacks, letting you virtually create your own moveset.

So guys, anyone else play it?
What are your Characters and their Sub-Classes?
What skills do you like?
And have you given in and bought Avatar items yet?

I currently have 2 characters.
A Priest(Large weapons), Sub-Class Crusader.
And he is AWESOME.
Crusaders focus on Buffs and Recovery Skills, but are living Tanks.
Able to Take and Dish out large amounts of Damage.
And their Attack skills also do heavy amounts of Damage and can be used relatively quickly and effectively.

My other Character is a Slayer(Sword Character) and i haven't acquired his Sub-Class yet.
Im still trying to decide if i want him to be a Sword Master or a Ashura.

I played it, made several characters. Unfortunately, the game turns to crap once you get to around level 50 or so. Pretty much every enemy has Super Armor and uses it often, so the best way to hit them without trading hits is to throw them. And of course, there's always the random chance to "miss" (sometimes when you punch an enemy, you'll see "missed!" appear above their head. This is often followed by them smacking you while you're still in mid attack). It's especially annoying because the chance gets higher when you play on higher difficulty levels.

Yea.
Im only a Lv 25 and on the Floating Towers and that happens often.

Still its fun to play around with he Characters and Skills.
And i lov the art and Sprite Style.
Plus PvP isn't so bad....as long as your not fighting a Gunner or Mage:Summoner.
Though once i get Holy Wall for my Crusader it should be easier to fight em.

I love playing PvP as a Ranger and rushing my opponents with kicks. Charging at them, only to stop just out of melee range and shoot them is a fun trick to pull off.

DFO is just one of those games that has such an awesome concept behind it, but the execution is sadly lacking.

Why.jpg

At least you engage the opponent.
i cant tell ya how many Gunners, No matter what class, spam Robots, the Flame Thrower, and Juggle like they're playing Tekken.

And i agree, there are some cool ideas in the game, but if feels like its not completely there.

There was one thing about this game I was hoping somebody could answer for me. In the ads for this game you would see a guy that looked like this. (Note: I found this picture by searching for Dungeon Fighter Online)
Well recently I started watching an anime called Arad Senki: Slap Up Party in which the main character looks like this.

They're the same person! Is it just a coincidence or is one of them ripping the other off, or maybe the anime is based off the game or vice versa, which is it?

This is about my feelings

I played it like when it came out and I remember no one ever wanting to go to the dungeons you want too also. It pissed me off >.< fuck solo
Lol, iv actually been able to find some good parties.
I just hat the quests that make me redo the same freaking Dungeon over and over and over again.
And forced Party Quests are also annoying, especially Required Quests that require a party.

Im gonna haft to look this up, the anime might be based off the game.

EDIT:just looked it up.
The Anime is based off the Game, and there is a manga as well.

Plus there is a Character Class available only to Japan, China, and Korea....man.

Its a bad Japanese attempt at making an anime for it. It was... kinda funny to say the least (only having watched like 3 episodes)

OT: All of the classes that I have high enough to get awakenings can't get them (mostly Female Gunners (Ranger and Spitfire)), and all of the other characters just get boring to use after a while. The whole thing for having to wait 5 levels to get a new ability just seems like a ploy to get you to level, but of course it was the only reason for me to keep going (Niel FTW!)

Is this that video game that I saw the ad for that had copies of pretty much any other type of fighter character?

-checks wiki-

Yep...it is..

Slayer looks like Sol Badguy from Guilty Gear.
Fighter looks like a mix of Jam from Guilty Gear and Chun-li from Street Fighter.
Gunner is Dante from Devil May Cry.
Mage....actually look original.
Priest looks like a Dudley/Balrog from Street Fighter mixed with Testament from Guilty Gear.
Female Gunner looks like Noel from Blazblue and Karin..ish from Street Fighter.

...I'm sure the game is probably fun....but this just seems lazy in my eyes =S

Ehh you can take pretty much any anime style game and do the same. Heck you could take any western game and do the same by comparing characters to other western game characters.
Loved DFO. Had an account full of high levels, my only problem with the game is that lagging actualy gives you an advantage in PvP.
On topic make your slayer a weaponmaster. Gameplay wise it's a lot more fun and in PvP its a lot easier to play.

Well, the styles are still EXTREMELY varied.
Plus you can pretty much make your own moveset.
Besides, i could take almost any character from King of Fighters and compare them to Ryu, Cammy, Alex, and Guile.
:/

Yea?
I love the Speed and Beam Swords look like a blast.
Plus the Avatar change that you get for the Arm looks awesome.

Yeah sorry for the response delay.
Asura is pretty much just spectacle it has a lot of flash skills but they're slow and everything is just a X axis projectile.

I only play as Paladins for some reason. And yet, this game was addicting. I loved it.

I see.
Though the skills are cool to look at.
Playing the Quests where i had to escort G.S.D were easy...

Paladin is the Advancement of the Crusader Sub-class Right?
And yea, its addicting.
So far my Crusader is my favorite Character.

yeah, it was fun for a few days... gets a tad too repetitive, so I only pick it back up every two months or so.

Yea, some of the General missions are also getting on my nerves.
Like the "Don't get hit so many times" missions.
Some of them are BS if your playing by yourself.

Do I have to pay? If not then I'll try it but I'm a WoW addict so I already pay enough for one MMO.
