Dungeon Siege: Throne of Agony on the PSP was a blast, sure it was a bug-ridden glitchfest, but I've played it a dozen times and found it really enjoyable. Which leads me to Dungeon Siege 3...

So, ever since hearing they were making a third Dungeon Siege game, I was really excited. Even moreso when I found out it was going to be a Square Enix game. I was all ready to pre-order it and everything.

Then I found out there was a demo of it available on Steam. Of course I downloaded it ASAP.

Then I am become disappoint.

I'm glad I didn't pre-order the game now. The demo was fun, don't get me wrong, but the game just doesn't seem to be fun enough to warrant me buying it. (Nor would I bother "downloading" it either, so let's not go there...)

All in all, I'm glad I tried the demo, because it saved me money for Diablo 3 instead.

Has anyone else found themselves in the same situation? Hyped for an upcoming game to be released, then after trying a demo for it, totally losing all interest?

There was already another thread about the demo, and it was almost universally full of disappointment.
Like I said in that thread, I prefer to play dungeon siege 2 again. Or dungeon siege 1, even.

Same here. I got through to the level up and thought "Why am I playing through this yawnfest?"

It just feels like there's options for options sake, in fights I had no idea what I was doing, the graphics are overdetailed so you can't see what's important, the music is there, the voice actors are phoning it in and the story is transplanted from Generic Fantasy 2.

The cut scene at the beginning was just hilarious as well.

"I realised you were special the day I found you in the forest."

WHAT? THE FACT THAT SHE WAS A BABY IN A COT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE WOOD, AND BOTH WERE AFLAME, DIDN'T GIVE IT AWAY?

Tripe. The lot of it.

In my eyes DS3 is not a Dungeon Siege game. Not saying it is bad or anything. Just saying it isn't Dungeon Siege anymore.

well I liked it. me and the boys have been looking for something like this for awhile on a console. it's a great piece of get together and play. we've gone back to playing sacred 2 since we've been starved for a good hack n slash that you can play with friends. the demo is only supposed to give you a feel for the game. I understand your dislike, just don't share your opinion

As I said in the other thread, I don't think it was terrible. But I certainly won't buy it until it's cheap and I have people to play co-op with.

I could'a played it since it had the Champions of Norrarth and Baldur gate feel to it, but the atks was just waaaaay too slow. Felt like I was fighting with cerment blocks strapped to my wrist, after a bit into the demo I just didn't wanna play it anymore.
