So, I have decided to try the Dungeon Siege III demo, but stopped playing it soon after...

- The intro movie + story was boring, simplistic and uninspiring.
- The controls suck and there is no option to change them.
- The graphics looks *ugh* can't even describe it. It looks just bad.
- The level design seems linear, narrow and simple (from what little I could tell so far)

The game is off to a great start. Dragon Age II is better than this. Yes, you heard me right. Now excuse me while I'm going back to The Witcher 2.
Was it graphics or aethstetics?

Theres a big diffrence.

It's more like a JRPG now to sum it up.

Given, the first two weren't exactly hardcore RPGs, I could still enjoy them. I could almost enjoy this if they had taken the time to make the right mouse button control camera instead of the fucking movement keys. Then I'm not allowed to select enemies, I just swing my weapon in their general direction. It's like it wants to be Champions of Norath or one of Baldurs Gate games that were released for console. Except those games were fun and I could control my character's stats and weapon swing.

Dragon Age 2 was better than this. Especially for PC.

It would have worked better if they had just marketed it as something other than Dungeon Siege. Their aim is clearly for consoles, and the only system to my knowledge that supported a game to the series was for the PSP.

Oh well.

Also, graphics were fine.

If Dungeon Siege 3's gameplay style is still similar to the previous Dungeon Sieges then I might as well save money and resources for Diablo III

I played it on PC.

I've never seen such an abomination.
Look, I'm not generally one of the types who screams "consolitis" but this is absolutely, 100% just a console game and controlling it with a keyboard is so god damn unwieldy I can scarcely believe it.

IMO it looks great, it runs fantastic and I really loved the art style. Even the story, while pretty generic (and poorly acted) wasn't all that bad. However, playing this was like trying to steer a shopping cart attached to a boat anchor that has an attack feature.

Is it really so much to expect that the PC version of a PC series at least be comfortable on the mouse and keyboard?

The controls are better using a controller with the PC version. The graphics are ehh, although even despite that, it still stressed my gpu, so it seems to have some optimization issues.

I certainly wouldn't pay full price for it. But if it drops to under a tenner on a steam sale, and a few other people bought it for coop, I could see it being amusing.

Someone has been watching Extra Credits [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/extra-credits/3201-Graphics-vs-Aesthetics]. XD

I guess, both are bad, but especially the aesthetics. Then again, I rarely see a game using really good aesthetics.

One of the large part of why i liked the earlier games of dungeon siege was the ability to create your own character. This made it a lot different than similar games like Diablo. The introduction of predefined characters makes me much less interested in the new game.

Just tried it.

Would rather play Dungeon Siege 2 again. Heck, I would rather play Dungeon Siege 1 again.

Obsidian fails again? Gee, what a suprise... To be honest, I thought they might be cleaning their act a bit since New Vegas was fairly solid, but seems that was a one-off fluke...

My distinct impression from playing the demo was "This would probably play great on a console". The story and characters were kind of bland and I didn't really pay much attention to the lore itself, but apart from the unintuitive controls (definately made for a gamepad and not mouse+keyboard) and the occasional feeling of lacking tactile feedback in combat, I did enjoy DS3. If nothing else, it might be fun to splitscreen it with my girlfriend.

I thought the demo was super disappointing. I was hoping for the epic soundtrack that we heard in the other two games. Anybody remember it? One of the best gaming songs of all time. Other then that, it was repetitive, the controls suck, and it felt to much like it was only meant for consoles.

I was disappointed as soon as I saw Obsidian and then the game started...No way In hell I'd ever pay full price for it.

Played the demo as well. And after the initial 10 seconds of glee of playing a floating girl with fire for hair...man it sucked. It didnt look awful...it just...wasnt fun.

And those say otherwise. (5 whole times!)
They also said the same things about Witcher 2 on the 360.

So there's that.

OT: Eh, doesn't interest me. But I did say that if Obsidian can create a relatively bug-free game, I'll buy this game twice. Just to support them.

So how was the demo, bug-wise?

You just made me lol with that comment. I imagine you with a top hat, monocle and mustache sipping on wine.
