I for one am really excited about this game. I stumbled across it on Steam the other day, and was greatly impressed. Not only was a very refreshing look at the fantasy genre, the game looks well put together and the gameplay looks pretty solid.

Now you will notice I haven't mentioned the game's spiritual predecessor yet, Dungeon Keeper. To be frank this is because I haven't played it or even looked into it very much as it's a pretty old game now, and I only heard about it after hearing about dungeons so I didn't see much point.

Now the point of all this is that I have noticed on many community forums people tend to be stamping their foots a little bit. No, it's not about Obama's uselessness or David Cameron's outright evil but they do seem to be under the impression that this game has to be exactly like Dungeon Keeper or will be awful and are wailing terribly when they notice features that are different to the Ye Olde game.

Am I missing something here? Help me out.

Oh on a side note, if anyone knows where I could get hold of a demo of Dungeons I'd be very grateful. Cheers.

It's simple really.

Dungeon Keeper was perfect.

Therefore any difference from DK is a automatically a flaw.

Well from what i can gather theyve copied dungeon keeper in every way (which is a good thing, dungeon keeper was a fantastic game!) except for the gameplay which really blows. It plays more like theme park apparently, you lure heros to your dungeon like guests to a theme park. Not really what i was hoping for, think ill skip this game :(

Try out Dungeon Keeper 2 if you can. It's a fantastic game. It has its own flaws, but overall it's brilliant, much like its predecessor.

I'll wait until this one gets some reviews before considering it though.

I'm quite excited about it. I enjoyed Dungeon Keeper, so I'll be curious to see how Dungeons does it. I won't be nerd-raging over any difference, although I can certainly sympathise, as Escape Velocity is perfect, and no other such game comes close.
