I'm kind of a newb when it comes to technology that isn't totally fictional. So when I want to burn a dvd with several episodes of something complete with a menu (like a professional dvd has), I'm afraid I hit a wall. A wall of technological ignorance.

So I'm coming to you, the escapists. :) I'm sure there's got to be a handful of techno-savy people around kind enough to help.

Here's my own speks. I run Win XP 64bit Pro, and a PC that was a gaming beast a couple years back. I own an older copy of Nero, and want to burn 12 (freely available) episodes of a web series onto a DVD R+. Each ep is about 150 megs (I dunno if making a dvd w/ menu limits the amount of data I can add to it).

If an old version of Nero won't cut it (since there doesn't appear to be any way to make a menu in it), are there any freeware dvd burning programs that will? (like how OpenOffice is word processing freeware, but totally awesome.)

Thanks in advance for your help. :)

Well if you had a Mac, you could easily make a great one with iDVD. Amazing program. But you know.

If you can get a hold of Adobe Encore, you can do a lot of stuff. A LOT. Tough to learn, though.

Your spec's don't matter. Get Adobe photoshop for it's editing makes it really easy to make really cool menus. then get adobe premiere, it's tailored for video editing and menu creation and editing. I am sure there is online help forums, I learned the software myself it's really not hard.

It said audition earlier, sorry the right name came to me after I posted.

Actually, I have an Mac Book Pro for school (Design Major). o_o I didn't even consider that, since I didn't buy any burning software for it.

So you design your own menu? Hmmm, INTERESTING!

Oh. Okay then. Yeah, iMovie edits video, and iDVD designs the DVD and burns it as a feature DVD. Very nice, easy to use, intuitive program. It is Mac, after all. :) And every Mac made in the last long, long time can burn DVDs. So you're good to go already.

Be glad you have a Mac then. Amazing OS, you can do anything you'll need, and it's much smoother and easier to use than Windows. Should make your life a lot easier, especially once you really get used to it.

hehe, I only ever open the machine when I need to use Photoshop, illustrator, and anything adobe for school. It's more like my work station, than a computer preferance thing. But yeah, so far, Mac has been a dream. There's a few issues here and there that have me irked. But those aside, Mac is good. :)

Makes me wonder why people rage on macs so much.

Eh, from what I've seen, the only real reason is that they're not as easy to mess with when it comes to hardware. Besides that it tends to be ignorance and its lack of games (but with Steam coming to it soon, that'll be fixed :D).

Yeah you use photoshop to make your buttons, background text what ever else you might want to do then you import it into Premiere and tell it that you want these certain things as buttons, tell it where the buttons go or do then you're done.
