Dead Space has never really scared me, but I'm excited nonetheless. I'm a huge fan of the series, so I'm really down for this.

It looks fun but I don't think more gunplay is necessary. 2 had a pretty good balance of horror and gunplay imho. I could do without cheap scares like things jumping down behind me every five seconds and more foreboding horror like weird noises and failing life support systems.

One thing to note from the footage is that there appears to be much more gunplay in comparison to the previous two games, hinting that Dead Space 3 may be leaning a little more towards "action" than "horror" in its gameplay.
DS2 was pretty much this, but as long as there's still great gameplay and a good story then this is a definite preorder for me.

Am I the only one wondering why they're sending an engineer (technician... whatever he is) instead of some kind of heavily-trained assault team to do this?
The guys in charge are probably genre savvy enough to know that in a horror story, the specialist never succeeds

Hmm.... so you're saying that the Dead Space series has graduated from imitating Resident Evil 4 to Resident Evil 5. Excellent job Dead Space at staying a step behind.
