Hello Escapists,

Not sure if this has already been commented on here but...

Just wondering if fellow escapists have been having issues with installing their copy of Crysis purchased during the Steam Sale on Saturday I think. How do you guys feel about all this? Who do you think should take responsibility EA or Steam? (some suggest they are playing the blame game at the moment).

I myself find it a tad annoying, but all in all I did purchase it at such a low price that I don't think its a huge deal so long as it gets fixed eventually (although an ETA would be nice). My real issue though stems from EA's lack of good service to its customers generally. Its a shame that EA continues to tarnish the reputations of its talented stable of studios and games. Thoughts?

P.S.: Feel free to add any thoughts or comments related to this issue if you wish

Yea...EA and steam don't work well together. So many problems with not just Crysis 1, but Crysis 2 on steam is such a headache. I often have to run the damn thing directly from its own folder so the game self updates because the game just won't acknowledge steam's update of it. Especially now since EA has its own download manager system they really don't seem to be in any rush to fix issues with their games on steam.
Edit: Seems from the steam thread the sure fire solution is to just use the EA download manager over steam.

I only got the first one, but it works flawlessly.
I have no interest in C2 though.

I have Crysis, Crysis Warhead (and thus Crysis Wars) and Crysis 2 on steam and all three install and run without any problems.

Well I had to edit a couple values in a text file to get my DLC for my Dragon Age Ultimate Edition.

Not that annoying by itself, but considering it took me two hours to find that fix I'm a tad dissapointed in EA/BioWare for not making that fix public.

Oh I wasn't referring to all Crysis purchases through Steam. This issue with Validation keys only occurred after the recent Sale. The DRM does not accept the Keys provided by Steam. Sorry if I wasn't clear on that :)

Ah, wasn't aware of that. hopefully it gets resolved soon. And BTW, even without the sale, crysis warhead is totally worth it for that [http://www.mechlivinglegends.net/]!

I bought Crysis on its own, and the code didn't work. After looking it up, I found a lot of people having the same problem. [http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1875468]

But after talking to an EA support guy on Live Chat, it was fixed more or less immediately. So as long as they can continue providing quick fixes, there's not too much of a problem. A lot of angry people, though...

I got the Crysis pack with Crysis, Warhead and Wars. Crysis ran perfectly, until about 3 hours in, and the game crashes. I tried everything, but I couldn't get it to work after that. I just gave up.
