Oh calm down guys, it was a throwaway joke. If you'd received the deluge of links to that Mass Effect 3 petition that we have over the last 24 hours, you'd be a bit snarky too.
You said it yourself. "Deluge" Does that sounds like a fractured community of of nutters? Sounds more like a passionate community who would like their voice heard, in the form of their favorite game news site. Not to be wrote off by a cynical writer who dismisses their very concerns with a "throwaway joke".

Funny, but I would have given you more props if you linked a screen cap of the Gaming Forums with Hipster glasses photo shopped over it.

Id like to bet that people responsible for the "Deluge" also sent links to the situation to at least one other gaming news site or sent in links to multiple writers.

Its not as much about a passionate community who would like thier voice heard as it is a mass of people experiencing first hand the effect EA has on studios it buys.

And while Ernest is cynical, at least hes not ignorant.

Unless you're too busy being entitled and petulant about the end of Mass Effect 3. That's cool too, I guess.
Hey now - some of us are pissed about the ending, but aren't letting those horrible 5min ruin the other 40 hours of the game that were completely amazing ;P

Although - I am a little irked because I bought a hard copy of the art book, and already had bought the comic series, prior to the game's release. Does this mean I get gypped out of my DLC?

I can't be bothered to put that much effort into the whole mess. All I want is for all this mess to just stop.

Meh, more money grabs. It's a shame that this particularly great property is falling prey to the worst publishing community has to offer.

Oh look, I'm going to dismiss people who are disappointed regarding Mass Effect as petulant and entitled! Aren't I a Zeitgeist and a great defender for our sponsors industry!

Don't be flippant or dismissive- not just for the sake of discussion, but also for your own (I'd hate to bait the fury of every single enraged fan on the web); annoying spam from idiots or no.

I just want the nightmare to end. I want to get to my feet and see Anderson tugging me towards the conduit shouting, "You've been out cold for 15 minutes! I think they're trying to indoctrinate us!"

Yes... yes that would be much better XP

I know full well what EA has done over the years. I've seen many game franchises destroyed as EA milked them by putting out a sub-par game, relying on the name alone to sell the game. They really are a cancer in the publishing world of gaming.

That being said this is a gaming news website not a blog. One might argue that Ernest was just. He is standing in a puddle of gas, with a bit of flint, and steel rubbing the two together. No one who would call them self something other than ignorant (which means you lack knowledge of the situation) performing such an action, unless they were being a troll. With the knowledge that they were making people who were already miserable even more so, while laughing at their suffering. Nope I'd rather think him ignorant, because the former just mass him a DB.

*Le gasp*
People getting more powerful? In an online co-op shooter? UNHEARD OF I SAY! UNHEARD OF!
But eh. It's nothing too important. If they were selling vital single player DLC with this, I would get a bit uppity.

Sorry, I'm just a paying reader of this website. I kind of expect those who would wear the badge of a professional to act as a professional. Lord forbid I actually call him on his poor etiquette, especially when has has done the same for me.

Already have the book, bought a real paper version (if I wanted to look at Mass Effect pictures online I'll got to DeviantART)

The artwork and development of characters is great to see, and it only cost £9.99... $25 for a digital version? That sucks

So, is this multiplayer DLC pack going to be the same as the packs currently for sale or for free if you build up enough credits from playing the game? I'm guessing it will actually be exclusive items. Otherwise, what would be the point of paying for DLC you could get for free?

But, aren't you supposed to be a tad more professional about this? You know, as being someone who covers news and all that good stuff.

OT: This DLC is alright. It just gives a free pack that can give you one of many little boosts or upgrades for your weapons and characters. Since it's co-op, I really don't see what the big deal would be with this particular type of DLC.

Not saying hes above reproach, but everyone sticking to a cast iron set of rules of etiquette is proven to cause people to break those rules much harder than those who use them as a suggested guideline.

Plus allowing him to express himself, however caustic the result, is how he distinguishes himself from the rest of the crew.
