EA bans member for "offensive name"

EA is now banning people not just temp ban but perma banning accounts (origin ban). The guys name isn't even offensive so they have time to do this yet don't have time to fix the game or ban cheaters....

As I state any time that threads like this happen:

Until I see some kind of proof in any way, shape, or form, I'm going to say that he's lying or has done something else and is passing this off as the reason. All we've got here is a guy claiming that this email was sent to him from EA and claiming that this is the reason he got banned.

Whether this is the actual reason or not, this is exactly why I refuse to use Origin, and refuse to use steam for anything other than HL/CS games. Your account gets banned? Hah! All your games that you bought on it gone. Could easily lose well over 500 dollars of games like that. All for probably just cheating on 1 of them. Even if other games of yours are single player games.

Why can't these assholes instead just ban that one game from the person's account? Why does it have to be the entire account?

did you go to the link they plain said it was for his name, he contacted them and posted chat logs. He isn't lying

Yes I did.

What I saw was a copied email being posted by the person saying that he is the victim. Of course it's all going to be EA's fault and he's a poor victim who didn't do anything wrong. It's very rare that a company is just going to ban your account for one infraction, especially considering that by banning his account, they lose a customer.

I find that a lot of times here, you're hearing the kid who cried about how they gave him detention for yawning. He neglects to mention about all the trouble he was causing before doing a loud sarcastic yawn in the middle of class...

When the only source is from a person claiming that he was wronged, I'm going to be skeptical. He's got an email HE says came from EA as his proof. Could he be telling the truth? Yes but until we have something more than his word, I'm going to be skeptical.
