If you look at a company as Blizzard, who has made so few games and are so strong in the game industry, financial and reputation wise(yeah I know it's Activision Blizzard now), then how the heck can it be so god damn hard for an enormous company as EA to screw it all up and take a large dump on their customers and just don't care?

Well.... I guess money is the rout to all evil....

Mass Effect 3 and Battlefield 3, I would have bought them but I can easily live without 2 new games just to avoid EA and their stupid Origin.

If the world really thinks that when you legally purchase a game that if you misbehave slightly, you should have to lose all the money you spent, even if you didn't misbehave, then I'm just done.

I'm not buying EA games until this bullshit is fixed, but you guys can do whatever you want.
Seems OP didn't even make it onto page 2 before realizing that their thread didn't start a revolution and giving up on the public. Makes you think about how dedicated they really are on getting the word out that EA's doing something wrong in their eyes. Seems to me like they wanted too have a public bitchfest but Mass Effect junkies put a knot in their panties.
but you read the OP, as have i, and it would stand to reason that anyone posting more than "good luck wasting your time" has as well. i believe that means he's getting his word out without sitting around. replying. to. every. single. reply.

eh, i would boycott EA, but I don't think i've bought many EA games to begin with.. all I got offhand is Mass Effect 1 and 2 (they were on sale for like $20 bucks) and I wasn't a huge fan of them anyway.

Nah, he'd most likely do something that involves a twelve-year-old girl and a donkey.

already on it most EA games are either shitty racing games (NFS went downhill with Carbon) or glorified DLC,s (AKA EA sports).
if you want to play ME3 without giving money to EA buy it used you can,t play online but ME is one of those games that doesn't need a online MP.

Oh yeah, I don't hack/cheat in their games either, nor should anyone else. Thanks for reminding me.
And if THAT were the only way to get banned, you might be on to something there.

Meh I don't really care much about EAs games since I buy most of them on console and don't have to deal with Origin. I was dissapointed with Dragon age 2 and would guess that Dragon age 3 is probably going to be even worse, especially since they may try and force multiplayer into it.

Not that excited about mass effect 3 either. Im not sure what you people are talking about when you say your going to boycott them? If it's a game I want then I will usaully get it unless it has something I really can't stand(Let's say for examples sake that it's Origin), then I may not get that particular game.

But declaring that your going to boycott every single EA game no matter what it is? That's going a bit too far. EA deserve it but most people are not going to boycott anyway. Plus I doubt EA would change their policies.

I've heard people say that it will put a dent in their profits right? Well that would be the logical assumption for a company that actully puts any thought into what they are doing would do.
But EA? Isn't that fact they do this really stupid and pretty much pointless stuff because they don't think about what they are doing?

I don't much have to worry about boycotting. Since EA rarely has any games I like to begin with.

However, for that rare time they do have a game I like, it will be hard to pass up getting it. Especially if there's a Steam sale. I'm up for kicking such a habit, though.

You seriously don't understand what a boycott is and why people do it?

But declaring that your going to boycott every single EA game no matter what it is?
Yes, some people actually have principles and can stand by them.

I play on Xbox so I don't need Origin.
I don't use any EA forums (unless BSN counts).
I like EA's games too much.

If you want to boycott them go for it - I understand that EA has been doing some shady (to say the least) stuff, and I understand why people would want to boycott their games.

As for me, EA hasn't personally wronged me.

I also don't agree with punishing the game developers because of their publisher's actions, which buying pre-owned would do. In fact, EA is more likely just to shut down studies if a boycott happens so EA would be relatively unaffected but we would lose game developers, and I don't think anyone wants that.

I know what a boycott is. Im just finding it hard to believe that many people will boycott every single game no matter what it is based soley on the fact that EA somehow helped in it's creation.

I was hoping for clarification, as in do you really mean EVERY EA game. It may just be that I don't know much about origin other than the fact it sucks and was labelled spyware by some goverments, but if I was waiting for a game to come out im not going to miss it because EA made it.

If it had something I couldn't stand for as part of that game then I would not buy it, but I would decide that based on it's merits and it's downsides, I wouldn't do it soley because of the game developer or publisher or whatever.
So ME3 for example, if you didn't need origin for that particular game would you still buy it, assuming you had been looking forward to it the moment it was announced?

I've been boycotting EA for a few months now. I wanted BF3 but until they stop being arseholes they're not getting my money.

Never mind, I just read through the thread again and it seems that people are pretty commited to boycotting EA which surprised me, I've never had too much trouble with them but that's just my experiance.

I will admit though that they have some pretty bad buisness practices, so good luck to you people who are taking a stand, I doubt anything will change but hopefully EA will take some notice and go "Oh hey, our community hates us, why is that?".

Yeah, a boycott wouldn't do much. Unfortunately they know how to sell units well. a puny dent in their numbers won't worry them too much.

You know what, why not. I'll save money, I haven't even finished Mass Effect 2 and I didn't like KOTOR as much as most people did. I can live without their games and am happy or at least not unhappy to not purchase any more of them. (And if I do really badly want to I'll get them preowned)

dont think a boycott will work here to be honest, its a bit of a draw a line in the sand it fails and EA looks vindicated. far better i think to simply keep drawing attention to the things ea does wrong, banning , stealing games lying, and ofc the crowning turd in the waterpipe origin ;)

let the hate build and the not buying of EA products come about more organically

Technically isn't this Origin you have issues with and not EA as a whole? I've been boycotting Origin already. I also boycott Activision as they're cocks.

No games for me it looks like....
