So Activision have killed one genre and crippled another? Bravo guys, i see that 'seqels only' thing is a real winner in the long term. Just real healthly for the industry.
Just wait for them to take the FPS genre with them

OT: All the modern skateboarding games I've played have bored me to tears, the original ones on the ps1 such as the THPS series (especially THPS 2) were fucking awesome. We as gamers want silly shit in these kinds of games, not realistic crap and gimmicky slow down time physics

If I were in EA's shoes I'd let some time pass and then make a new game under the Skate or Die franchise brand(since I believe they do still own it). It could be multi-event based like the original with one of the modes being an open world component. The only thing that'll tough to decide on is what control scheme to use. It won't revolutionize the genre, but it might be enough to keep it afloat for another moderate stretch.

I just want to know what happened to the SSX games!
I miss my skiing/snowboarding games:/.

...Shaun White does not count.

Awh I'll miss the skating games though. Never liked the camera of Skate...might pick it up when I have a few spare Squid lying around.

Skate revitalized a dead genre.

Too bad Skate 3 is such a complete game that there's no reason for a sequel. It is the perfect skateboarding game.

I still like the Skate games, though. Well, the demos at least.

The first game had a difficulty curve like a brick wall, and scares me away ever since.

But just skating around the world is fun. :p
