Best plan of action would probably be to make a lot of constructive noise on high traffic forum like Tacos.

and that's why so many people turns to TPB and piracy
It sucks that EA and Acti own so many developers. Get banned from anything EA is tied to and you may as well just load up TPB permanently. Sad thing is that boycotting stuff hurts the devs more then EA, since EA is more likely to cut the little guys away before hurting themselves.

With EA trying to get Origin in the Wii U I think console owners should be getting more and more worried (even though you can still be caught out now-a-days).

Also, damn Stargate (re-watched it recently) every time I read about Origin I'm reminded of the Path of Origin. I guess the comparison is kind of apt though. Follow or be destroyed. Hallowed are the Ori.

Mmmm getting too negative for my tastes.

I was perm banned from all EA services for swearing so in turn I took Battlefield, all my NHL games to Gamestop and traded them in for store credit. I have no intentions of ever purchasing another EA product ever again.

Cheers!

I had called EA on the phone for support for my PSN account not being active on BF3 since it wouldn't connect to battlelog for some reason. Anyway I had to call 3 times I got dropped the first time. The 2nd time I couldn't get through. The audio quality was extremely noisy. The guy on the phone sounded like he was on a cell phone in a crowded subway system.

I got it on the ps3 since I already tried the BF3 beta on the PC. Origin was awful.

Also Canukk them trying to reach him through other websites like reddit is not at all in anyway shape or form a legitimate way to reach him. If the info is there to ban his BC2 via steam shouldn't you have his phone number or something? It seems more like snooping.

I heard about stuff like this a while ago. It just makes me sick. I will not buy another EA game again, but that's something I decided before I even read this thread. Hell, maybe after almost all would-be customers pirate their games, EA will be forced into submission. That would be a sweet, sweet victory. Highly unlikely though.

Quickly! Get a dozen lawyers, a few sexy women, and we march on EA headquarters!

If someone did, i would join them, i wont lie. Taking down tyrannical overlords is something ive always wanted to do, and EA is proving to be one of the worst in history.

More on topic, i cant believe theyre using an auto filter for a ban system. That doesnt even sound like a good idea. On pen and paper it would sound even worse!
*Scribbles it down* Its not only worse, but possibly the stupidest thing on paper i own.

I'd still like to know how Cullina was able to get information about MaximumTacos' account status when nobody else was able to...

Canuck: you interacted with me me on battlelog forums some time ago. I have no reason to have any form of contact with you after viewing your condescending posts at that time.

You're also kinda late, and misinformed. I am corresponding with EA and have been for some time before your current post, and working towards a resolution for other people who were victimized equally/worse than I was.
Im sorry you feel that way..

as for trying to troll you?? i have checked your post history and my post history and see absolutely sparse contact(almost none tbh) between us at the best of times over the last 5 weeks. In fact looking at your post history i only see 1 interaction between us at all in 7 pages and that certainly does not fit the definition of trolling but if you feel i have trolled you in some fashion i apologize for any mis-communication on my behalf.

I was trying to help bring a resolution to this matter on your behalf and had discussed with my EA contacts your case. They had told me they tried to contact you through other channels including reddit and had no response and were willing to intervene for you. I had a direct email to a person in EA games to contact , bypassing the CS live chat to hopefully have this resolved once and for all.

Your frustration is warranted but you dont have to attempt to paint everyone that is involved in battlelog and Ea as the devil incarnate, especially where there were those and still are those people that were trying to help you out.

But regardless, Im glad your ban has been lifted and you can get back into the game once again. I have the email address on my ea contact if you still wish to get a hold of them to discuss, but i will leave it up to you to take the high road and contact me via pm here or send me a friend request at the battlelog forums for a chat http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf3/user/CrazyCanukk/ .

Cheers!

So crazy canuck, from another canadian to you - why have all my gaming accounts been banned? I recieved a 72 hour ban from your forums for language - which I'll admit I kind of deserved but find hypocritical in light of the fact that the voiceovers in your game have nothing but fbombs all over the place - so why is it now I can't access BFBC2? It's not connected whatsoever with Origin or Battlelog. I can't access any games I've purchased, perhaps you'd like to comment on the legality of this?

To get this straight: Your company released game which AT BEST was in a beta stage on release date. Your company forces Origin and the social networking site Battlelog on us. The Dev (DICE) in an attempt to mitigate the disaster that was the release of BF3 releases patches which are little more than placebo's - the same issues that were causing players to rage all over the forums (CTD's, Rubber banding, lag, disappearing textures) are still present two months after release. I go on the social network you forced on me to complain, use a swear word and get banned from my legitimate purchases. And you wonder why people pirate games?

Let's not forget this fact. Battlelog forums moderators are useless. The entire forum reads like the /b/ section of 4chan, with far worse language than what I've used - and yet the random banhammer falls on me? Makes sense.

Your arrogance and your obvious ignorance of consumer law aside, you should seriously get off your power trip and address the policy in question instead of trying to make yourself look like a knight in shining armor.

Posted over in EA UK forums so the community is aware of this/ flamed to death by the fanbois.

A permaban is really a business opportunity for EA. if you really care about playing the game, then you will buy all your games again under a different account.
"Yes! We will lock them out of our game, so they buy it again, instead of resorting to piracy! Genuis!"

I know you are joking, but that stupidity is just SO EA.
Genius indeed.

Your account probably WAS attached to origin/battlelog, you just didn't realise it. As i said, Origin is just a rebranding of all of EA's other rubbish, from accounts to store, etc. Playing BC2 requires an EA Online account which you can guess, is now under Origin.

I can agree battlelog forum is a cess pool, far far worse gets said than the majority of people who end up banned, my theory why they avoid the banhammer is because they fail to spell even the most basic of insult or are actually smart enough to expect bans and autodetection so they intentionally miss letters or add letters, etc.

Either way, forum mods on battlelog? they dont seem to do anything except post news and sticky it. Maybe lock a thread that a dev posted in.

EA shouldn't be leaving bans up to a robot, they should just auto censor words like every other forum if its that much of a problem.

Either way i'm done posting there, i dont even read them to make sure theres no temptation to post. I wont be buying any more EA games as i dont deem there to be much value in them any moree.

People really ought to either just stay away from origin and EA, or just stay off their dumbass forums
Why does anyone post on an EA forum? I avoid them like the plague syphilis. I don't mind Origin but EA has some dodgy practices that make interacting with them, except when unavoidable, a bad idea.
yea, cant agree with this post more. the official forums are absolute trash. while im not saying "its your fault for posting in such an awful forum" or anything, because clearly you did nothing wrong, in the future everyone should avoid origin forums because they are just bad, in both content and functionality.

I've been bookmarking this case ever since I first got a whiff of something smelly.

My conclusions so far are simple:

1) Stay the hell away from any and all EA online forums
2) Do not buy anything EA

If we keep throwing money at them, they'll turn into the Socialist Third Shariah Reich of Catholic Anarchists. And we can't have that, now, can we.

I still cherish some of my first C=64 ECA titles. Crap games, really. But they came wrapped in boatloads of lovingly crafty cardboard, and ECA just seemed so friendly back then. Now, they're basically some real-life Cyberdyne Systems with automated user buttplug harrassment, and they even expect to get paid for pestering and annoying us. I don't seem to like that very much.

And I really can't condone whatever it is they're doing to/with Battleforge. It started out fresh, and now it's like... well... how to put it into words. CUT OFF THE CASHCOWS LEGS SO WE CAN KEEP IT BLEEDING. ADD SOME CRACK AND LSD TO THE BLOOD, WE CAN'T LET THE USERS STOP PLAYING. PLAYING MEANS PAYING, BUT THE USERS MUST NOT NOTICE IT. ADD RUSSIA. RUSSIANS LOVE TO PAY BY PHONE, IT'S CONVENIENT. That's some scary stuff right there.

I can vouch for the OP on Origin/Battlog bans being outrageous. I was just banned for quoting a post that I reported in battlog for being offensive. Here's the post /email:

Hello ,

Your Electronic Arts account has been suspended for 72 hours for violating the Terms of Services for Electronic Arts Online.

Violation:

Inappropriate language:
Post:What a cock. I can tell if were ever unlucky enough to visit your house i`d imagine it being pristine clean with your cooking appliances in alphabetical order based upon what country it was manufactured, let alone the tins of food in chronological order and your DVD` stacked up from what you`d `approve` as best to worst.... You have spent 10 fold the amount of time as i have writing this message to your trolling first post on what seems to be the most ridiculous points to rage at because the game doesnt maintain to the standards of your pathetic lifestyle. Get a life you cocksucker. Its a fucking game that has minor errors; which of course is completely contrary to the life you lead..... .... you cum guzzling, spunk sniffing, lady boy fingering, anal dwelling, fat slutty fuck face penis, whore bag, crack pushing, sleezy shit pie. Thats all.

offenders post ^

My post:
[/quote] Reported for offensive language. Enjoy your 72 hour ban.

...and I was banned for 72 hrs for reporting this thread. How retarted is that? Ea has an automated service noe that looks for words in your postings... if you quote someone else.. you get punished for the offense.

Well your tale was the final nail in the EA coffin for me, I will continue to buy all other companies games. But their games will now be obtained via less scrupulous means, if at all.

Frankly, they seem to think themselves some sort of dystopian videogame dictators here.

I no longer want EA to redeem themselves, I am actually wishing the company completely fails.

Yes, this may lead to layoffs in an difficult time for people who didn't decide to take this course but they chose to work for this despicable organisation and their foreclosure would be a definite improvement to the industry. They could do SOMETHING to rise up against their leaders who are driving this publishing company off a cliff. The wholly owned studios would remain intact and simply be sold off to better publishers (i.e. ANY publisher).

Work for the evil empire, don't be surprised if you lose out.

EA have just gotten too bad, they just can't come back from this. This betrays such lack of confidence, such contempt for their customers, they have no trust left and can't earn it back.

Please. EA. Just stop.

I'll be returning to this thread to refresh it every time EA does something new like, oh I don't know, take weapons away people paid money for:

http://battlefield.play4free.com/en/forum/showthread.php?tid=61323

Amazing how fast they got to 200 pages in this thread, must of hit yet another nerve.

At least EA is being equal opportunity here, they screw up BF3 by banning people unfairly, and then follow on with their play for free version and pull a grinch on their paid for weaps.

Merry Christmas from EA.

Anyone here familiar with the Sims,I used to go on the EA forums for the Sims 3 until it turned to trash you had trolls running amuck and getting innocent users banned I got banned for 72 hours for confronting a troll and as well they let the forum bullies run amuck while people who are gifting things or etc still get banned
