DRM, online passes, ignoring my suggestions of a Sims/Dead Space hyrbid, EA's actions are proving pretty unpopular nowadays.

Last night however, a message I received from a friend over Xbox Live proves to me that we can now add "Farmville tactics" to that list.

Now let's be honest here, it's safe to assume my friend didn't write that message. But can anyone tell me more about this? Is there a little message that pops up with the SSX demo asking if users want to voluntarily send the message? Are people who download not told that a message will be sent in their name to others? Does EA have even more control over a person's profile than this? Just curious is all.

Not received anything like that from my SSX playing friends, so I'd assume it's an opt-in thing.

Interesting. I did a little snooping and it seems you can unlock a character if you send the demo to a friend, but nothing on sending actual messages in their name.

I assume they have a thing for sending that message. If I remember rightly some other games had a option you can take to automatically send a message to friends. Usaully it was used for high scores, the message would read as "On ____ game I just scored OVER 9000!!!!, can you beat it?".

Sounds like EA have just been using those as advertising. Yet another thing to dislike them over but not that big a deal.

So do you have to check it or uncheck it? As in, is it the default option we must seek and disable or we can only opt-in if we really want to?

Also, what does the "there is nothing wrong with Origin having my personal information, I have done nothing illegal" crowd have to say about this?

If this starts happening on facebook, let it be known that I called it.
