well, something crappy had to come from them. i guess afer being for so long bad, they are having a hard time to find there way back for being good. but just maybe.
Actually it makes perfect sense when you consider they attempted to sell SimCity as an MMO. EA says a lot of bizarre, stupid things, but even so, my thought is that it's a lot less about the "Free-to-Play" and much more the "we don't make offline games anymore." They don't care about whether it's single-player, multiplayer, free to play or pay to win. They just want an excuse to make all games have a constant connection so they can enforce DRM. At least that's my take on it.Noelveiga said:Guys, this article is trying so hard to twist what Moore is saying, and you're going for it without thinking. Have you listened to the actual interview?
When Moore says "free to play" he doesn't mean "microtransactions", and when he says "franchises" he doesn't mean "games".
FIIFA has a free to play game called FIFA World, and their iPad game is going F2P. Battlefield has a free to play game whose name escapes me (plus that Battlefield Heroes thing).
He's not saying that Battlefield 4 will have microtransactions, he says that if you want to play A Battlefield game without paying for a disc up front you can do that because they have a F2P PC Battlefield.
It's one thing to react to the things EA says, but making up things they didn't really say and getting angry about that is just weird.

Yeah, that sounds about right.BrownGaijin said:Thought 1: Dear Lord, it's like watching the Titanic hit an iceberg and then hearing the captain say, "Can we pull it in reverse? I don't think I got enough ice for my drink!"
Thought 2: Can I go back to my universe, where free-to-play meant not having to pay sixty bucks upfront (or any money for that matter)?
Nice, I also have a video that best describes the general level of frustration:canadamus_prime said:So EA is continuing their practice of putting all their eggs in one basket. At least they're constant.
I don't want either of those things. Evidently I don't speak for the majority of gamers however.Andy Chalk said:"And gamers either want to be connected, so that your stats and your achievements and whatever you do certainly reflect who you are, or you want the full multiplayer experience on top of that.
EDIT: I think I've got a good theme song for EA
