Is that even possible?According to the filed paperwork, Active Network claims that it's held the rights to the word "Active" for over ten years

If only that's how it worked ^^Sovvolf said:I've got this feeling that the Judge will just laugh at them and close the case.
Quick tell RED driving school! They might be able to make some money!Humble85 said:You can actually trademark the word "active"? Shouldnt Active Networks trademark be "Active Networks"? I dont know about trademark law - could anynone have trademarked "Red" and sue rockstar for RDR?
Anyway, the lawsuit sounds ridiculous to me.
I agree. You cant own a "word". You may "own" a combined expression,i.e. you can have a trademark for "final fantasy", but not for "final" or "fantasy" alone. Thats why i think the court should give right to EA, maybe to create a precedence.benoitowns said:Now that is completely retarded. No one can legitimately own the rights to a word.
You two never fail to crack me up.Jack and Calumon said:Oh please. Next Toei Animation and Akiyoshi Hongo will ask me to stop putting Calumon in my posts.
Calumon: Our situation is kinda different though...
Jack: True, but the point stands. At least now I know what to call my game.
