EA's Dead Space Trailer

So apparently, the ESRB has refused to approve the game's E3 trailer for American audiences. Although the trailer is indeed violent, I don't see how it's too different from many other such horror game trailers. And if the ESRB won't approve the trailer, how lenient are they going to be towards the actual game's rating?
The trailer has been approved for Europe and is, needless to say all over the internet. Link to the story and video below.

considering that the ESRB's approval for trailers probably has a "General Audiences" criteria why would they approve something that shows body dismemberment? addittionally, EA knows very well what the criteria is and the Lullaby unnaproved trailer thing was just done to stir up some controversey to get people to check it out.

and nobody needs an ESRB approval, i wouldn't be surprised if EA didn't even send it to the ESRB.
