EA's free game, which will it be?

Red alert 2 Yuri's Revenge.

So you still have to buy Red Alert 2.

Honestly, Probably something from the back catalogue from a year ago which is around the $30 mark on Origin

There will be a choice between hopscotch and hide and seek. They're multiplayer, cinematic and compelling. You just download the rules from Origin.

That expansion got bad press for having the most intrusive copy protection of the time. Then we'd have copy protection within copy protection...

We have to go deeper...

Well, one has to admit that this is a nice gesture *if* they don't do it like Sony did and give People the first part of a series or something.
Anyways, the game runs fine now? And the Cities are actually larger then they where back on my Amiga 500? Everything works reasonably well?
Would still be the longest time i've seen a game struggling and that includes MMORPGs which aren't known for having a single player mode...

It'll be a game with lots of DLC or micro transactions in it. So they can most likely earn quite a bit of their money back from this give away.

Imo it's too little too late. The only thing that could 'fix' it would be if they introduced an offline patch, and would not put in always online DRM in future games unless it's actually needed. (like in moba and mmo games.) Otherwise, well...they already ruined their reputation for me with the ME3 debacle.

Funny though, when blizzard came out with their always online DRM in D3 people already warned that other companies would start doing this as well. And that they'd try to eventually make every game always online. Others didn't believe those people. Yet that's exactly the direction we're going in right now.

Some mmo's struggled with early server issues for two weeks or even a bit longer. And I don't know for sure, but didn't WoW have server issues for several weeks or even over a month as well at their vanilla launch?

I'm voting for Dead Space 3. The game didn't make enough money in their opinion so if they give it away free they might get some cash from their microtransaction scheme.

BF3 is my other guess but I'll go with Dead Space 3. I would love to have more noobies to kill on BF3 though.

I'm really concerned about Resonance SD shameless shilling for EA. It's always the most forced and trite praise. EA is great, no errors here! Best game ever, thanks EA! I mean honestly, who writes like that? I smell PR department at work. It really smacks of their twitter fiasco.

In response to OP, I wouldn't be surprised with a second copy of Sim 4, I also wouldn't be surprised with a copy of DS1. But lets remember, whatever they choose, WE MUST HATE THEM FOR IT! Honestly. Fuck EA and the whorse they road in on.
have a look at my posts on any topic involving dead space, mass effect or dragon age, you'll see pretty quickly that I don't work for them. If I did and was speaking in an official capacity, you can bet your..wallet that I wouldn't be posting on The Escapist.

Also a suggestion, turn off or turn the music down a bit lower when making a lets play, it gets hard to understand you at times when the music starts to play over your voice
Thanks! I've done that for my later videos.

If the game is attached to Origin, they couldn't PAY me enough to play it.

I would almost bet it will be. Or something with lots of micro-transactions. And it wouldn't surprise me if it's will also be a alway online game too.

I think it'll be their latest few successful multiplayer games: ME3, Battlefield 3 etc. So the people they give the games too will have a chance to give EA more money for the map packs and DLC and the like.

I used to hate EA, then I realized that they are a company doing what companies do. Then I wanted to transfer my Mass Effect games from Steam to Origin so if/when I get ME3 as the free game for buying Sim City, I could have them all together. Well, the internet said they don't do that, but after a few minutes chatting with a very polite customer service rep, I got it done. So go EA!

That's funny because I had a similar experience. About buying DLC for Dragon Age 2, Bought it on the wrong account and they refused to transfer it. And I quote "Just buy it again". So... yeaaaa.

I'm gonna call it now, it'd definitely going to be a PC port of Ty the Tasmanian Tiger for all to enjoy, because EA is a benevolent company that gives me exactly what I want, knows a good game when it sees it, and know that porting this game would be easy, and make them money.
...
...
Right?

Something very old and the first in a series with a sequel either just coming out or coming out very soon so as to act as advertising.

Hey, EA, how about you just give us the game you were supposed to give us instead of saying that's too hard?

It'll probably be another poor seller; a title that's already bombed and that EA doesn't need to offer too much support for.

I'm figuring it'll be Medal of Honour: Doorfighter.
