Easiest game you ever played?

Jade Empire, with it's instant 6-Million-Dollar-Man-Jump-behind-the-Opponent, combat was never really a problem.

Also Portal, wich is sadly a bit uneven. Yes, it's kind of okay that the main game is easy, but then the challenges are insanely hard. However, the last chapter of the game had a nice difficulty to it.
But that said, Nebacular Drop is much, much easier.

Also, strangely, Puzzle Quest got very easy a few hours into the game (after the first hours were pretty painstaking), even if the AI still cheats.

easy games that were good, destroy all humans, mercenaries, twisted metal series and crackdown were all killer titles, a joy to play but hella quick to finish

This one stumped me a bit.. Kirby's Dreamland above was tempting..

Having thought about it though I nominate Final Fantasy Tactics Advance. I found myself taking absurd amounts of time just to keep my party at decent, non-ridiculous levels and keep some fun in it.

Talk about a contrast with the original..

You Have to Burn the Rope [http://www.mazapan.se/games/BurnTheRope.php].
The games on that site are as much fun as Portal.
Well, before I played that game, the easiest game I ever played was this Rugrats game for the PS1, which I'm fairly certain experienced chaps like yourselves could do in under an hour.

Hmm... I think my easiest ever has been Red Alert 2. It's just impossible for the AI to last against a massed tank attack. Or a massed airstrike

Xenogears for the PS1

None of the enemies were overly hard, and for the ones that posed any challenge, Omegasols brought everyone back to full HP and EP.

Okay, now You Have to Burn the Rope is the easiest game I ever played too.

Before that it was the Rayearth rpg for the SNES. You get enough money to buy every weapon in every shop as soon as you enter without having to sell anything, your mana is refreshed at the beginning of each battle. I didn't need any potions, rarely needed to heal anyone and you can kill the end-boss with the 'extra' character you get alone... I never stopped to grind some level ups or anything either.

That was an absolutely stupidly funny game to play.

It's tough to really name a modern game here, as "easy" has kind of become the norm. Even on hard, there aren't too many games that I haven't beaten inside of a week, and I have a full time job and a six year-old.

Old school easy games that stick out as "Holy crap that game was easy" include most of the Disney games for the 8 and 16 bit systems. See: Ducktales, Rescue Rangers, Little Mermaid, Aladdin (which was fun, but really easy), and pretty much anything based on the Disney afternoon.

Maybe I just suck at most games, as the only games I can play on the hardest ones are the Guitar Hero series, and the NFS series...maybe I just suck at shooters and RTSs.
That said, NFS: Carbon was damned easy. I could probably beat it in a day if I tried. Mario Kart Wii is damned easy on 50 and 100, but after that it seems to have an exponential difficutly curve, with 150cc at the top.

I think games are getting easier, especially with console games, because developers are triyng to go for the 'pick-up-and-play' dynamic. Saying that, apart from the Wii, I don't think I've ever found a mainstream game that anyone could just sit down and do alright on.

games are pushed to be simple in this day and age so that everyone can play them...but the easiest game I have EVER beaten? Probably the Harvest Moon 64...it was just impossible to fail obviously, but the women were simple to please and after awhile (once you got the greenhouse + a couple of cows to win the contest and get the special grade milk) money just came so vastly that I was able to put off weeks of in game farming and just go participate in events and fish ALOT...maybe that's just me though........come to think of it, got really bored of the game and stopped playing just before my uncle or w/e was supposed to return...hmm...oh well :D

Come to think of it, I take back my first statement...alot of games are still too hard for the younger crowds....but most games have "difficulty settings" for a reason

Okay, I know for a fact some of you people are liars.

For me, it was undoubtly Gun. It was an excellent game, and while I did die in parts, it was just too short to present a real threat.
