my favourites are:

Tony Hawks Underground, where on one of the walls in the New York level (i think) there is graffiti of the Leeds United FC badge (a football/soccer team for all you non-english/english but living under a rock with internet connection).

The Stop n Swop eggs in the Original Banjo Kazooie I collected but never found out what the fuck it was for. Then finding out ten years later that they work, but you have to buy the game again on a different system. Fun fun fun

I like the GM Island thing off WoW, although it probably is used for something. I like the little island off the coast of Tanaris as well. Also, every GTA easter egg is awesome too.

I liked the Lost easter egg in Half Life 2 episode 2. What's funny is that you'd never normally see it unless you had the Developers Commentary on.

I said that knowing it has a purpose, which kinda makes it not an easter egg as it was created to serve an in-game purpose.
