So I've been looking at several recent games of establish series' - Silent Hill Downpour, Ridge Racer Unbounded, RE Operation Racoon City and have found a striking resemblance - all not as good as previous instalments, and all made by Western devs.
Now, I'm not a western dev hater - I like lots of Western games, but I find it really odd that they just can't seem to grasp what makes Japanese games so great. In fact, the only JP game from a Western dev I've truly liked is Sega Rally (Revo), which happens to be a personal favourite, but I'm under the opinion that Japanese companies really need to stop outsourcing favourite franchises to Western companies.
I know why they're doing it - to try and appeal more to the western market, but if anything, most of the time they just deter fans even more.
But what's everyone else's opinion? Do you have any favourite games in a franchise which incidentally are made by Western devs, based off of a Japan made franchise? Do you think they should stop with this recent trend?
