Well i've finally bought a copy of Final Fantasy XIII, and began playing it.
One of my main reasons for not wanting to buy it was that 'La Roux' apparently wrote the soundtrack, and the idea of that womans music on loop for 50+ hours made me want to drown myself.
I honestly believed the people at Square Enix had lost their minds with this choice, but now i get to playing it the soundtrack is actually really good.

So fellow escapists, i stand corrected. Metaphorically eating my words.
Now for my point of discussion, have any of you made claims to a game, console or something similar only to eventually find yourself eating those precious words you'd spoken?

I thought that MW2 would be totally awesome, and because it was made by a publisher like infinity ward it would have no glitches or lag. God damnit.

I also thought Medal of Honor: Airborne would suck. It wasn't amasing, but it was pretty good.

YOU. You... stole my topic.
Seriously, search barring a few terms isn't too hard. "Swallowing your gaming pride" being one.
Really though, I'm a fool for discussion. Probably when I said that any and all JRPGs were caterogical fail. Then I got my hands on the Dragon Quest games. And not your fancy DS Dragon Quest, I'm talking OLD-style. The early Final Fantasy games were actually extraordinarily un-Final Fantasy...ish, but nevertheless, I worked up from them to recent works such as Lost Oddysey and Final Fantasy 13, which I just got today and... haven't actually played yet.
Damn.
