I'm about to put a tiger's eye carving of Buddha on ebay. I was wondering if anyone of you had an idea on what I should start the bid at. The statue is authentic tiger's eye and 5 and 1/2 inches tall by 3 inches wide at the base. It weighs 495 grams.

I am not attempting to sell this through the escapist or advertise my auction on ebay. I am merely asking advice on a starting price.

Jeez I don't know.

I guess sane advice would be to work out the minimum price you would be prepared to sell it for and then work out if it would be a good idea to set a price below that in order to drum up some interest or a bidding war.

If you list it as way below its value however people may assume it is a fake so watch out.

I would say if you wanted at least say £50 you list it at at least £30. If you want to take that risk at all.

you could look up "price of tiger's eye carving of Buddha" on google and see what it comes up with

I'd say just start it off at .99 with a reserve price of the minimum you would accept for it, and just see what price it gets bidded up to.

i'd say get it appraised or look up similar new ones online and reduce the price for what they're offered for

also with ebay stipulate buyer pays shipping, payment has to be received before shipping and if it's valuable put a reserve on it, so you don't have to sell if it's not met but put a note saying you might sell it if it's close enough to your reserve

This exactly. Go in expecting someone to try and rip you off and you'll probably cover your butt well enough to fend off any potential problems.

Why would you sell that?! Is...is it cursed? O.O It has to be...theres no logical reason to sell such an awesome statue.
