Being into ebay as i am i cant stop wondering why people constantly bid over and over on an item especially when it has plenty of time left. some will just bi bi bid until theyre the top bidder. Do they not realize they are raising the price and making it more likely to make the person they outbid just bid again. why dont they just wait til the last seconds and put in their final bid-because if they were going to bid that much anyway why risk raising the price on themselves....its just idiotic. some say its to weed out others but that doesnt make sense either since if you play it smart you would outbid them anyway.
I can only imagine its some frivolous a-hole who gets off marking up a price for another person, your thoughts?

My guess it's a combination of the desire to win and being an idiot. If I actually bid on something and won't be around to snipe it at the end, I bid the most I'm willing to pay for said auction. If I win, hooray for me. If not, oh well. More often than not though, I head for the buy it now options.
