Hello escapists.
I've been looking around for the most perfect ebook: not too expansive, can read most or all formats, easy to use, has a large memory, fast and clear display, good batteries, durable, emp hardened etc...

I'm an avid reader and I love the feeling of a book in my hands, but lately my collection is starting to take too much space. So an ebook is becoming sort of a necessity for me, as it's hundreds of books in one, easier to transport than a laptop and with a screen made not to hurt the eyes.
So I've been looking around making comparisons, but I want to see what you think is the very best ebook.
Thanks.

I'm tempted to try and get one myself.

I love books but it's so difficult tracking some down...

Hope you find a good one ^_^

ok, I'm going to get the Cybook gen3.
Mainly because of the excellent user impressions, replacable battery and non proprietary OS (it's moddable). Though I don't know yet if I'd be able to buy ebooks from, say, barnes and noble since it's not theirs. To hell with them if I can't, anyway.

Anyone who wants to talk about ebook readers and ebooks is welcome here.

Take a further look at the Nook.

3G and supports all ebook formats including just .txt files. It's what I'm looking at buying.

It looks good too, but I'm in Europe anyway, and not interested in the 3G. The cybook does (or can be made to) support a lot of format also. Plus I just don't like being tied to one chainstore.
