Thanks to those saints at Extra Credits i gave this game a look and im pleased to say that i did indeed find something that i had been missing from my gaming experiences; compelling story.
For the most part these days i find myself so disinterested in the save the world/get the girl/destroy the world plots, that it has actually started effecting the enjoyment of the game. Vanquish is the most recent personal example of this. I liked the game, the mechanics were awesome, the challenge was refreshing but the story, which isnt exactly bad, is just over-used to hell. I still finished it and got rewarded with the obligitory 'here comes a sequel' ending but its all so meh for me now.
Echo is fun, for me anyway, because every action in the game i take makes me feel like im in some creepy China Mieville book, and thats just awesome!
er...btw anyone know how to start a new character? as in...delete the one ive currently got and restart fresh?
