Anyone who thinks that WoW is "Auto-attack until death" needs to stop playing Rogue and play a tank, caster, or healing class.
Uh... Rogues don't autoattack.
My point exactly ;)
But then the point of this thread is not about how the game compares to WOW. If that was the case, I would have also mentioned FFXI and Ultima online. Lets be honest, that is how the chain of MMO development grew. Its about first impressions.

Sure I didn't enjoy my experience with WOW, but I am not saying anyone elses good experiences are any less valid. Thank you for your opinion and your first impression.

Right before replying to this thread, lets just forget about WOW, the term WOW killer, or dominating MMO scene. That is not the purpose of this thread.
Oh good, looks like someone is actually going to be reasonable, and above all, not jealous.

And most importantly, battling is not just a case of clicking on an enemy and waiting for the stats to roll whether you survive. Also leveling up is not dependent on just killing the same mob over and over. Quests also add to experience, meaning you dont have to be bored killing that same type of fungus, orc, or bird amd you can just get into the game and enjoy it.
Nevermind, just another person who tries to defend the game they like by turning away critism while predictably dishing it out to other games.

Better yet, play a druid. You can do all 3 of those things.

Not precisely. I have played many other MMO, and I have found that to level, it was sometimes a case of just killing the same mob type again and again, then moving to another and repeating the same process. The goal was mostly to get to a certain level before doing the quests. I am not saying that it is a bad approach. Sometimes I really do just want to kill mob and not think. I was just saying that it is nice that Aion allows you to mix questing with leveling.

I will say that WOW allows for questing earlier than some other MMO, but it feels like the quests are just a break from the leveling. I mean thats just my opinion, but thats what it was like for me.

I found Aion to be a cut above AoC and Warhammer Online, but it lacks WoW's breadth of vision and LotRO's lushness. There's nothing groundbreaking in Aion, and other MMO's do a better job of bending the formula. IMO.

On the down side. Sever times and queues are a bit of a pain. NCsoft are not going to be too willing to deal with this until the initial hype cools down, but apparently additional servers are planned.

Also, I have not considered leveling an alt yet, but I have to agree with people above, repeating some or all of the quests would not be all that much fun.
