My school email account is through Hotmail Live, and for the last 4 years I've gone to hotmail.com and signed in that way with no trouble. But since yesterday, I haven't been able to access it. I put in my account and password as normal, but I get an error saying:

You're currently signed in with an Office 365 email account, which can't be used with Outlook.com. Please click here to sign out of your Office 365 account, then use another Microsoft account to sign in to Outlook.com (for example, your hotmail.com, live.com, or msn.com account).
I click where it tells me and try to sign in again, but I just get the same message. I was afraid someone may have gotten into my account, so I reset the password (which is through a hotmail.com account, which I was able to access just fine). I reset my password, tried to sign in again, and same error. The only thing I know about Office 365 is that it's how I access the email account given to me by my work. But my work isn't at all associated with my university or my university email, and I can't access Office 365 at home and I haven't ever tried. And I haven't ever tried to access my school account at work either, so the two shouldn't at all be linked.

So what's going on here, did Microsoft change how live.com works? Do I need to sign in through a program like Outlook Express? Does anyone else with a live.com account have this problem?

EDIT: Well figures, like no more than a minute after I post this my boyfriend replies to my problem over Facebook and solves it, lol. Well not really "solves" it, I still don't know what's going on with live.com, but there is an alternative way to access my email through the university web site that got me in. So I guess I'll just do that from now on, because I hate messing with Outlook.
