I give every time I'm able due to the red cross harassing me nonstop if I don't because I've got O+ blood. I've never really had an issue with panic/fainting/weakness but it saps the strength right out of me a couple of hours later. A good meal right afterward isn't a bad idea, either - the cookies and juice they give you isn't really enough.sky14kemea said:Just wondering how many people are squeamish at the sight of blood?
Today I'm giving blood in town (I always give blood around Christmas, dunno why), and I'm a little scared of needles too, so I always look away. But I'm not scared to look at my blood.
It's a little weird, if I'm bleeding, It doesn't bother me all that much, but if I see someone else's blood, I spazz and panic. xD
On a side note, I almost fainted last time and had to lie down (One other guy had a small fit O-o Scared the crap outta me, apparently he hadn't eaten or something) So anyone got any tips on how to prepare myself as well? ^^
I have O+ blood, they send me letters every month almost xD but I never get the guts to go until Christmas (I don't go to town often either)
*high fives for the same blood type*
Hehe, it kind of pisses me off that they call me/email/snail mail me so much but I like to think that every pint I give goes to some sick kids instead of the more likely scenario of it going to a drunk driver or gangbanger that done f*cked up.
