So i pre-ordered New Veges and well.. I was not happy, not at all..So i was like "Its ok.. Im badass, i just beat this game on Hardcore and on VeryHard..Im epic and im about to get a 100 point achievement.." And cuz the game is some damn glipy and such, i DIDNET get that achievement.

So that was the last thing about this game that just made me explode so i gave that shity game to my friend and i walked to EB and grabbed a copy of Oblivion Game Of The Year Edition for 25$ and have bin playing the shit out of that game since the day i bot it cuz i havent even touched Oblivion since i got Fallout3 in 2008.

So im playing Oblivion and then i watched it.....Then Oblivion meant almost nothing after i watched that teaser for Elder Scrolls 5 Skyrim...So im wondering has Fallout3 and Oblivion bin killed by the idea of Skyrim?

Comments???

No, I don't want it now. I want it in November, after they've had adequate time to go over it, so there's as little chance of epically fucking this up as possible. However, I'll not get my hopes up too far, being mindful of Murphy's Law... and the fact that they're redesigning a few core aspects of the game that have been key to Elder Scrolls games throughout the years. It just... seems iffy. I don't know. I'm probably just paranoid!

I've never played the previous games, but I've heard a lot of good things. So I guess I'm tentively excited.

Everyone wants it. Everyone needs to stop making "OMGZ SKYRIM IS COMING OUT I WANT IT" threads.

Eh. I may pick it up after it's been out a while. Oblivion was okay, but got tiring quickly with it's bland mechanics and generic setting.

Never played TES 1 & 2.
TES 3: Morrowind was freakin' awesome!
TES 4: Oblivion was also very good, but didn't come near Morrowind's level of awesomness.

So I hope that Skyrim can bring a bit of that Morrowind feeling back, but I guess we just have to wait a year to find that out, won't we?

You can go try Arena (ES1) or Daggerfall (ES2) for completely free (legally). They're a bit hard to get working if you don't know what you're doing, but they give you a feel of how the games work.

Nope, not interested. It sounds too much like Oblivion, which wasn't nearly as enjoyable as Morrowind for me.

Haven't really played Oblivion much, and then I saw the $60 PC price tag, so no. Don't have the time or money for that, especially since I'm a full time college student, working part time, and looking for a second job...

S.C.H.M.E.

I'd like a demo first, I kinda wasn't too warm to Oblivion and I was always a morrowind fan a bit I have high hopes for Skyrim, but not so high that i'd get disappointed too much like with oblivion.

If it's anything like Morrowind and Oblivion, I'll be waiting 6 months or so after the pc release so some actually good mods can come out and the game won't be crappy anymore.

Bethesda games without mods are sad affairs.

I haven't been impressed with the stuff they've talked about so far. I am very ambivalent about it, since they keep trying to mess around with the stats and skills. I like the idea of assigning each hand to a tool/spell, but I hope to God that they're optimizing it for the PC rather than make it easy for the console users, and then porting a shitty, simplified system to the PC. That's concern #1.

Concern #2 is this whole dragon deal. I always liked the Elder Scrolls 'cause dragons were, with one exception, not there. I really am fed up with dragons, and not since playing NeverWinter Nights have I had fun battling them. As long as they keep the emphasis away from "OMFG DRAGONS EVERYWHERE" and hopefully don't do some stupid "half-dragon humanoid evil hecnman" type race I am fine with the story. TES is not known for the great main storylines (although Morrowind had a good one I think) but for the great world it takes place in.

Concern #3 is about the lore. I was somewhat disappointed to hear this take place several centuries after Oblivion, as I liked the random chatter you'd hear about what was going on in Morrowind. Most of all, though, I hope they will keep the emphasis on telling a great story throughout the world rather than just in the "important" places. They've kept this up with Fallout 3 (compare to New Vegas, there's hardly any small, "story-telling" places like in F3 or Oblivion), so my hopes are high.

Concern #4 (and last), the perk system. Now, I don't mind trying out new stuff, but I was kinda confused when I learned that they're using a system similar to Fallout's perk system for the new TES. To me, it seems like they really want to make people call it "Fallout with swords" in the same way that people called F3 "oblivion with guns". I don't see the need to add these perks, and would rather see them add better enchanting (I see the enchanting skill is back, which is positive) and better spellmaking. That they removed Mysticism, my favorite skill, is kinda sad, too, but no big issue.

Do I want it now? No. I'm much less excited for this than I have been any previous Bethesda releases (Rogue Warrior excluded), and I am not certain I will buy the Collector's Edition as I usually do. Am I going to buy it when it comes out? Yes, definitely. I want to know more, though. So far I am seeing a downgrade in many areas of my favorite game series. I hope I am wrong, and when they reveal more details I hope I'll reach the point where I'll be stoked for it. As of now, however, I'd much rather have Portal 2.
