I found this funny:

Also a highlight from the Oversight committee:

Also what was that about a Hugo Chavez hoax?

I found this funny:
I'm not sure what's funny about it.

Is it the idea that Republicans need powerful drugs to get by the election defeat, or the irony of this cartoon when they're patently frothing over Twitter and engaged in hysterical fraud accusations?

I mean, you could consider what post that line was actually in response to rather than apply it to the entire thread topic. The person that was aimed at was claiming knowledge of decades of Republican voter disenfranchisement, which means you're sort of just agreeing with me.
I'm quite happy saying that it's a really unwise interjection after pages and pages detailing increasingly futile, desperate and pathetic conservative attempts to prove election fraud.

You think you come across as this level and indifferent? You're feuding on every thread dude.
Because I found a comic funny?

I'm not sure what's funny about it.
To me, the joke seems to be the juxtaposition between "now is the time for unity" and how the same people are using terms like "hopium" and "copium", to further make fun of those who lost. You can't do both. If you want unity, stop kicking people while they're down. That's the joke.

Uhrm, one poll-watcher just stated that he was working on November 4th, and saw tens of thousands of new ballots from people who had apparently just registered in the few days before the election. He didn't believe that many had registered in such a short period, so he began noting down their names.

He complains about how he was prevented from doing so. Uhrm, yeah, because that sounds like a colossal data protection infringement. No way should he have been allowed, they were right to stop him.

But here's the thing: I don't doubt that the guy in question just didn't realise what he was doing was an issue. He probably genuinely believes he was obstructed from doing his job. But how many of these complaints are just miscommunications/ errors on the poll-watchers' parts, which have been blown out of proportion because these people have been repeatedly told there was fraud?

When handling sensitive data, I would think that the important thing is that the data does not leave the room. If you're writing down names so that you can hand the list to a supervisor, or something, that's fine. If you're going to put the list in your pocket and go home with it, that's not fine.

But stuff like that should have been covered in their training, not some sort of ad hoc decision made by someone who thinks that this shouldn't be allowed.

Maybe it was explicitly disallowed in his training, maybe it wasn't, I dunno. Voter registration information is also public information.

We have so many witnesses all claiming the same thing, that they were intimidated, harassed, and thrown out, that it seems unlikely that it wasn't systemic and intentional.

How long does it take to commit election, changing thousands of votes?
Also, wasn't it really good of him to do it on public so everyone can see? It's almost like he wanted to get caught. I usually do my crimes out of sight of people
2.5 seconds.

No really. You pick a % and can probably auto change that amount of votes

It's an absurdity, because no-one really believes unity is coming. The Republicans have exercised mass obstructionism for over twenty years: they could not have made it clearer that it's their way or no way. And it's not like they've offered any hints of a change of course. In fact, the Republican Senators have already implicitly said they're intent on Biden only getting the cabinet they're prepared to let him have. "Unity" is just the cliched bromide to sell to the few moderates who delude themselves their politics isn't doomed to be another four years of partisan shitshow.

Speaking as someone who deals with more data protection stuff than I'd like... If you want to handle that sort of information, you make sure you're appropriately trained and aware of the laws, that you are operating under approved ethical permission, with proper safety procedures, and so on. Otherwise you are a massive clusterfuck waiting to happen, and a wise supervisor who does know about these things (and will take a ton of flak too if there's a problem) tells you to cut that shit out, pronto.

Yes it is. The comic is meant to be absurd. This is from the same artist who had Joe Biden sucking out a black woman's melanin through his hand, because if she doesn't vote for him "you ain't black".

Okay, that has nothing to do with the comic, though.

Again, sadly, I had to open up the ignore message to see what you were talking about.

The comic is not worth a response. It's once again trying to point and shame Democrats for being uncooth while ignoring what actual political figures on the Right have done.

Just put out the facts, ask what does that have to do with unity, then question why heed someone who doesn't point these things out as well.

There was no need for civility or "thinking about the feelings of those who are down" during the entirety of Trump's time in office. Now, we must rise above it as always while Republicans get to tear down more.

And here's the thing. Yeah, I am the type of person who doesn't want to mock people who are sad. But in equal measure, I can't stand disingenuous people who would have been hooting and hollering their heads off if Trump won... now sad that have to deal with what they were subjecting us (and planning to continue to subject us) to because they lost and we should be nicer to them.

I do handle sensitive data. In a setting like this, where there's a strong potential for members of the public/ other organisations to enter and leave, duplicating the data on uncontrolled personal notes is not something you do.

I don't think it was malicious on his part, or anything; I think he just made a mistake. And, because he was expecting malfeasance of the people running it, that's what he interpreted their objection to be.

We have so many witnesses all claiming the same thing, that they were intimidated, harassed, and thrown out, that it seems unlikely that it wasn't systemic and intentional.
Prior to the election, their favoured candidate told them to expect it. And people see what they expect to see. We have dozens of witness reports of weird lights and aliens and stuff from places of reported alien encounters as well, because the expectation is there: so instead of a headlight in the distance, people report UFO lights. And instead of a perfectly normal thing like some guy plugging a USB into a computer, people see fraud.

And on the contrary, people have been told to expect "the most safest and most secure election ever!" by the media, and so I can understand that there's a lot of resistance to the idea that the election wasn't as safe and secure as they were led to believe.

We've also had 5 years of 24/7 news wherein the media constantly bashes Trump and Republicans. Like the Two Minutes Hate from 1984, but one that lasts longer. Do you think that might influence behaviors as well?

I don't disagree with what you say, just "both sides" are guilty of being manipulated.

Noone wants unity with fascist fetishists. They can fuck right off and die in a ditch.

From the hearing:
Witnesses allege "black lives matter" shirts and face-masks are allowed, but a "Trust Jesus" shirt was not allowed for "dress code violations".

Systemic and intentional discrimination targeted at republicans?

Oh man of the past, for whom religious is a political party, fear not! We here in the future have realized that faith in a particular God is not an indication of your political party, save of course worshipping Donald Trump as his Cult does.
I believe it was on the 10th we learned Jesus, the feed and clothe the sick Jew from the Middle East wasn't a Republican Christian Conservative.
