Hi, i've been watching alot of TV-Shop lately due to sheer boredom, and i've started thinking about getting one of those belts that send electric impulses or vibrations that "tones" the muscles, the thing is, i've also watched the Bullshit episode about TV-Shop, and i do trust Penn & Teller to do their research, so im not sure what to do...

Anyone here who has tried one of these machines like Abtronic or Vibratone and know if they give any result at all?, i aint stupid, so i know they arent as good as they say on tv, but is there any truth in what they say?, do they work?

I really want to loose weight and gain muscles, but im also really lazy, i've started jogging some and taking longer walks, but it would be nice to get faster results and build more muscles while doing so.

So, long story short, are they any good at all?, im desperate

Those devices always sound stupid to me. I would just suggest going outside and doing stuff.

i am doing that, but it would be nice to get faster results, and if they work, atleast a little, why not?, i can easily afford one of them, and if they help me loose weight and build muscles while i take my walks, it would be nice, also, being able to loose weight while watching tv would be a dream come true for a lazy bastard like myself xD

Yes and no.

NO: They won't make you fit, lose much weight, measurably improve your strength, endrance or anything important like that.

YES: They will improve muscle tone in specific areas though, just not by much. They're also good for physiotherapy. I've had to use one to help heal injuries sustained whilst doing proper excersize.

If you want to lose weight, then it's cycling or swimming for fastest results (running will screw up your knees righteously).
For gaining muscle it weights. Sadly there are no shortcuts but you can set up a spinbike in front of the tv.

#Get a bike, if you can afford a set of zappers then you could easily afford a servicable bike, just troll ebay. Or if you're handy with spanners, go skip diving and get a bike for nothing.

From what I've read about it, they are supposed to work by sending electrical impulses that regularly contract the muscles. The theory behind it is sound, but the device itself is not. If it was easy to build muscle and lose weight by sitting on your ass, it would be a multi-billion dollar business.

Yeah they do tone muscles slightly but that's about it. it's just basically a scam capitalising on people being lazy but wanting to be fit, it's the 21st century equivalent of that machine in the 60's that used a belt to wobble all the flab around someone's waist about supposedly making you fit.

Personally, I recommend the exercises. I know your lazy, but each time I hit the gym, I feel a lot better. (tired, but with a feeling I accomplished better). Also you can eat more healthy. I know some diet freaks will recommend a diet. But instead of eating junk, eat something healthy. ex:Replace chips with carrots and dips

The electro belt dont work on there own there more liek a garnish, the help to a sertain ectent if you doing a sizeable work out. But if you want to lose wieght realy fast then I would say sex is the best thing.
