Oh, so EA touts equal right and non-discrimination? That's great...that means they can treat EVERYONE like utter crap to an equal degree.
Man, they are lobbying so hard right now. I'm just not drinking the Kool-Aid. However "tolerant" EA claims to be, I'll not soon forget the practices that brought to bear a CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT against them for over-working their employees.
It's great that one's personal choices don't adversely affect them in this company, and it is to be commended. But this should be a given (even if it isn't yet), and it doesn't ignore all their other faults.
Seriously, we haven't seen such widespread abuse in such a large company since the Roosevelt era (the first one!). Well...that's exaggeration...Bank of America was pretty bad as well.
Anyway, I'll not be convinced that they have changed in spirit anytime soon. Sure, maybe they are actually compensating a 100 hour workweek. But I'm sure there's pressure to do more to keep your job, since "a million people want your spot" if they get fired.
A company's "soul" is represented by their business practice as a whole. How they treat their employees AND their customers are the truer measure of sincerity. It doesn't matter if they don't discriminate, if everyone gets an equally shared amount of douche-baggery. It doesn't matter if they apologize for their faults, if they keep repeating their mistakes.
And it doesn't matter how many games they continue to make, if they keep producing production line flops. Moreover, it doesn't matter how many IP's and companies they acquire, if they continue to shut them down. They've ruined Westwood, and are currently ruining Bioware. I'd hardly call that "treating your employees well."
So I'm withholding the forgiveness, and brewing some more Hate-orade...
[Emperor Palpatine voice]: good good...let the anger flow through you!
