I wanted to share an experience with all of you. Tonight as I left my building, a stranger, female, struck up a conversation with me as we boarded an elevator. We continued our conversation for the ride, and continued it till we got outside the building, which she attempted to persist, I declined. We went our separate ways.

That?s it.

A pretty harrowing tale don't you think?

Now what if I said I didn't personally care for the conversation? Was I put into a position I was not comfortable with by the advances of a female? Who then had the audacity to act like an adult and bid me goodnight when we departed?

I demand outrage! And an increase in capital which profits me based on this experience I am sharing with the world.

The question everyone will wanna know is "She was hot"?

The maximum I got in a elevator was some old men screaming at me for not responding his "hi", I was listining to music when he said it and was early in the morning so I was half sleep too...

Seriously? You're drawing a false equivalency of elevatorgate now? Finger really on the pulse there.

reallyreallyreallyreallyreallyreallyreallyreallyreallyreallyreallyreallyreallreallyREALLY

hope you're joking.

Anyhow, let's treat it seriously. If you shut down the conversation at the very beginning and she kept trying to engage you, then it's annoying. If you shut it down and she left you alone, no problem. If she made an actual advance/pass/inappropriate hand signal at you, then it's inappropriate regardless of gender.

seemples.

What the hell is elevatorgate?
This^^.

I feel like the OP is parodying something(is it this [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rebecca_Watson#Elevator_incident]?) but I'm not sure what it is.

Hmm since nobody has told me I have a feeling it has something to do with being stuck in an elevator and being obligated to talk to someone who starts conversation because you're in a confined space.. my theory anyways. Still waiting to be corrected :D

Elevatorgate was a particularly stupid backlash against uppity ladies on the net.

Basically, a woman was talking in a blog about being at some convention, and mentioned how late at night, while she was tired and cranky, someone followed her into a lift and tried to pick her up, and she said he was being creepy.

Which was, of course, the most terrible thing ever said by anyone. It got massively overblown and, she got condemned by any number of people, notably including Richard Dawkins who was upset at stupid women talking about something other than how evil Muslims are.

Took months for it to die down and various people to stop taking it as proof of how feminism is trying to emasculate society or whatever.

Yeah, best thing to do is post pics of Johnny Depp and/or apes running away, and people hiding in office furniture.
