Article says it all. What are people's thoughts? I wonder if they will write off the character now or just keep her alive but never seen and mentioned sometimes

While I never cared for her character, or her spin-off show, it is said to see anyone pass, especially someone who played such a role in the Whoniverse. RIP.

Granted the spin-off looked shit, but I remember when she was with Jon Pertwee/ Tom Baker in Doctor Who, which did her far more credit. RIP Elisabeth Sladen.

I was shockingly touched by this. Since I discovered Doctor Who just over a year ago, I have made an unusually strong emotional bond to the show, it touched me like few shows ever have. While I naturally didn't know Sladen, the sincerity of Sarah Jane as a character made me actually feel emotions with her character on the show.
It almost feels wrong, like I have no right to feel sadness for a person I do not know, but I do. I loved Sarah Jane, in both Doctor Who and her own show and she will be missed.

*sniff* Rest in Peace Lis.

Sarah Jane is one of my all time favourite DW companions. Her DW episodes are fantastic and SJA is excellent too. My mother (who grew up with Sarah Jane's Doctors) loves watching SJA. We'll both miss her.

Dammit...

She was one of the best. Not just because of Doctor Who, but because she was just...good. There's a million people who should be gone in her stead, people that nobody likes or should never be heard from again... But you know, I don't think she'd approve of that, so I'll just wish her luck, wherever she may be.

Tom Baker's Doctor Who and Elisabeth Sladen's Sarah Jane was part of my childhood.

I remember playing FF2 (FF4J) & The Lion King on the SNES, watching the 'cool' cartoons of the early/mid 90s and also watching this really weird show with Brits called 'Doctor Who'.

Great times, nostalgia glass on or off.

All I could think of reading this was...'fuck'.
Just...wow.

Wow... first the Brig and now Sarah Jane. :(

I've only just started watching the older stuff (I started with the 9th Doctor like a lot of younger fans), so I don't have the strong emotional ties some older fans of the show have to the character. However, the loss is truly a sad one for fans of all ages.

Couldn't believe it when I first read it. I thought it was some kind of hoax. But no, we've actually lost our beloved Sarah Jane. This universe just won't be the same without her.

My first thought was "No way, she was so young"
Reading that she was 63, older than I thought, but still young to go.
