Some games allow us to break the rules. Some games allow us to throw the general expectations to the wind, strip naked, and run whooping down a freeway while on fire. We all enjoy this kind of game. And so, Escapists, I ask you, what is the emergent gaming achievement you are most proud of? Did you beat all of HL2 using the crowbar? Did you make a giant pile of corpses in front of White Gold tower and then cover them with gems, just because you could? I love this kind of stuff, so I'm curious what you have to say.
As for me, I'd have to say it was the time I was playing Fallout 3 and at level 12 I took on a Super Mutant Master in a fistfight--and won. I had the Fat Man and Lincoln's Repeater in my inventory, but where's the fun in that?

Pretty much any moment in Smod, especially with all weapons and infinite ammo. Especially, for me, the train station. Those guards don't know what hit 'em (a shovel).

Also, the point in Uplink where I was asked to trace a huge bank transfer (several million). I traced it, sent the account number to the people who wanted it...then stole all the money for myself. Suddenly I can buy everything in the game with 90% of my money left. I felt like an evil genius.

Dammit Introversion! Make an Uplink 2!

Halo 2: Beating the boss with a Banshee, though I doubt I was the only person to figure that out. In fact, I loved taking vehicles where I shouldn't, also in the first Halo. Of course Halo 3 introduced invisible barriers for vehicles to prevent us from having fun...

FFIX: Being able to summon eidolons before they were taken away.

You can use the Rocket Launcher to shoot the Banshee off the high cliff overhang early on in The Assault on the Control Room level of Halo 1 and do pretty much the rest of it up to just after the Wraith. Although, you do tend to blow it up sometimes.

You 'officially' visit this area on Two Betrayals.

I did the same thing in the first Halo. My favorite was on the Silent Cartographer, getting the warthog between the tress up into the middle of the island, and driving it down the bottomless shaft underground.

beating most of GTA San Andreas' missions using nothing but my bare fists.
(those that could be completed in such a way)
Edit:
And the same, but with a friggin' katana.
Yep, it was cheating, but it was 4 Great Justice!!!

I don't know if this is the type of thing you're looking for, but there's an achievement in Warhawk for taking down a plane with a handheld weapon other than the rocket launcher.

So one day I was throwing a grenade at an enemy soldier, when one of their planes came out of nowhere and flew right into it. ^^
