So i reached a point in my life where i need more. Have been working in my country (Portugal), and i still don't get it. I try to be honest, never drink or smoke, at every single job ive been my supervisors loved me (But bosses didn't), Always get along with people and try to help and every single time, if i go to a job interview, people say they don't want my "Kind", even tough i'm white with dark-tanned skin. The amounts of Racism is too dam high!!

The best job deal i got was 1 year withouth vacations, or bonus, working the double of what i was working and getting less paid. It's.... ridiculous.

My country has become corrupt(talking about peoples mind), and weak. I need to break free.

So ive been gathering info in emmigration. Trying to go to the UK. Heck seems like a good place, Mounty Python, Freddy Mercury, Team 17, Bansky and all that.

Hell any place is better in where i live. No matter how much i fight i only get mediocre opportunities, and i need to prove what i'm made of...

Since i know English, and i'm a stubborn man, ive decided to NOT try my luck, but CREATE it elsewhere.

In case of TL;DR i'm gonna keep it simple. My life has stagnated, i want more, need to emmigrate, going to UK. Need help in form of Advice or any other things you guys can remember.

Hope in the end i get enough to help me create my life, and a better one at that.

The reality of coming to the UK is that you will up against literally hundreds of thousands of other people also migrating. Life will be hard unless you have some marketable skills that set you apart from the Poles, the Bulgarians, Romanians and even the French. You wont need a visa or anything like that but its best to get a job before you come.

Well, given EU immigration laws, you could technically just get tup and move here tomorrow, though not recommended.

What kind of help could you use? Jobs are somewhat hard to come by, though our unemployment is significantly better than Portugal's right now.

As you are a EU citizen you will be able to exercise EU Treaty Rights which would allow you to live and work in the UK without too much trouble, though if memory serves you would need to apply for residence to stay in the country once the period of treaty rights expires. For more info on applying to live in the UK I suggest checking out the UK Border Agency site to get the full facts before making a decision.

Bare in mind that the job market here in the UK is not that great at the moment. Although it is getting better, it is something to consider when making such a big decision.

What kind of work are you looking for, and what skills/education do you have?

There are jobs in the UK, but they may not be that glamorous - when I was on JSA (unemployment benefit) most of the available ones were callcentre, basic admin, cleaning, etc. I was lucky and got something much better in the end, but welfare recipients are pressured into taking the first job that comes along, even if it isn't really what they want to be doing.

I'd certainly recommend getting a job offer (or at least have interviews lined up) before making the jump. The UK does have a rather unpleasant anti-migrationist streak [https://www.google.co.uk/search?num=50&q=daily+mail%2C+migrants&oq=daily+mail%2C+migrants&gs_l=serp.12..0j0i8i30.13072.13072.0.14225.1.1.0.0.0.0.79.79.1.1.0....0...1c.1.32.serp..0.1.78.1s7iT6xzJZQ], and the current government is really cracking down on welfare (for everyone, not just migrants), so your life might become difficult if you were unemployed for any length of time.

That said, it is great here once you have a source of income, so I wish you luck!
