Good Afternoon (Evening, morning, etc) fellow Escapists, recently I have begun to wonder about one of my old favourites "War of the Monsters", and then I began thinking, "Are there any similar games for newer consoles (PS3, PC, XBox360)?" Unfortunately for me, I found zip, nuttah, squat, zilch.

Now to the point, are there any games you have played, whether they were unknown games hiding in the shadowy depths of the 'used' pile, or mainstream masterpieces, that have touched on a style of play which seems to have all but disappeared off the face of gaming?

In other words, what genres of gaming do you love to bits, but for some reason or another, you are unable to find anywhere? [sub]Also, if anyone knows of a 'War of the Monsters' style game for the PS3, feel free to mention it, my search is leaving me high, dry and altogether wanting[/sub]

We need a new sandbox style space sim like Independence War 2... that game was amazing, Newtonian physics made it feel like a real space sim and not just a flight sim set in space.

The only thing I can think of is Point and Clickers, but even those have had some recent releases like Zack & Wiki and the re-vamping of Monkey Island.

I'd even venture to say that Heavy Rain is a similar type of game experience, but it's definitely not in the classic P&C style.

I'd like to see a new Maniac Mansion or a new P&C from Lucas Arts.

I just looked that up (wikipedia), and it sounds like Destroy all humans but with focus on prank-style things rather than destroying government bases (basically it sounds totally awesome and like buckets of fun filled with childish glee)
