So I've been given the Herculean tasks of collating a whole pile digital family photos.

The problem is I have hundreds of folders with folders within them to sort through. I was wondering if there was some easy way to move all of those pictures in one fell sweep into another folder instead of tediously cutting and pasting them again and again.

Is there some neat trick?

I'm using Windows 7.

If you view the parent folder in Explorer (I believe you can see the folder structure on the left of every window you open in Windows), then search for a common file extension (in the upper right of the window), something like 'jpg', it should give you a return of all those matching files within that folder only. You can then select all, copy (copy, don't cut) and paste to wherever you want it. Only delete after you're certain you've gotten everything.

I'll try that thanks.

Edit: Yeah that worked. Way easier than I expected thanks for the advice.
