engrossing games

i was just wondering if theres anyone out there who could recommend me some good and interesting games to play. im not the sort of person who does nothing all day but play video games, (breathing and sex are sort of on my list of things to do as well) but they do form a huge part of how i waste my spare time. but i just realised that i havent really been engrossed in a game since first played fallout 3 and lost about 3 days without realising.

so, just wondering if any of you can recommend to me some good games (for PC) that i wont get bored of

In danger of sounding unoriginal I'd recommend Mass Effect (especially number two, but you have to play both as they are a more or less continuing story).

Any genres you're fond of? Or does anything go?

KotOR 1 or 2, Planescape, Fallout 1 or 2, Bloodlines, especially Bloodlines, Witcher...That will do it for now.
