Really, am I the only person who is SICK of hearing about DLC? You don't like it, DON'T BUY IT. There are more important and/or entertaining subjects in gaming that we could be discussing instead of whether or not Bio intended to include some DLC sci-fi slippers or not on the disc.

Remember as well that EA and Bioware don't owe their gamers ANYTHING. They do what they want. It may not be the best business practice to ignore their customers but it's their choice, their money, and their assets. Just like how it's your choice to spend your money on their game or their DLC.

It's a good job we had you to make ANOTHER thread about this and then completely fix up this argument with your completely sound logic that we have never heard anything like before from anyone on this site. Indeed the entire argument has now been resolved thanks to the creation of this thread. Clearly it was a good idea for you to do this since your so sick of the argument right?
/endsarcasm

I am sitting here on my labtop trying to decide if I should even bother typing up a reply to this or just link you to one of the other threads.
Screw it, im tired and could fall asleep at any moment but i'll try and reply properly.

OT: It isn't that they are releasing DLC. There would not be this much argument if they were releasing good DLC, gamers love good DLC, just look at Oblivions DLC. It had Shivering isles and knights of the nine. People loved those and happily paid for them.

However that isn't what's happening here. Day 1 DLC has been a tricky topic. Many people feel that they are just making you pay extra when it comes out, they have a point. However previously all day 1 DLC has come free if you bought a new copy of the game. Many people didn't mind it because they were just trying to more money for their product since they got nothing for used game sales. That isn't the topic here though.

The topic here is that you don't get it free with the main game. You have to pay extra. More than the full price for the game. Most fans will not want to miss out on this since it is the end of a trilogy and the DLC has something many people will want. This is EA/Bioware milking their fans for extra money. That is all it is.

The reason people are angry is that they are raising their game price. The reason people are angry is that they are exploiting their fans willingness to pay extra. The reason people are angry is that something like this could set the norm and make all publishers do this. The reason people are angry is that now with this, companies like Ubisoft, Capcom and Activison are going to realize they can do crap like this to raise the price of their game.

If you have a lot of money to throw around then that's fine. However most people are not going to want to pay for overpriced games especially since games are already one of the most expensive forms of entertainment.
People can say "If you are not willing to buy it then you don't have to". This is true. However, now those people cannot buy those games that have risen in price.

Can anyone yet see why they are angry? Yes they have just been cut off from a large section of the gaming industry because all of the prices were raised beyond what they were either willing or capable of paying.

This is why people are angry. Not because they have to pay for "Sci fi slippers" but because prices will raise for what are already expensive games.

"Never the only one, blah blah blah."

If the issue is serious enough to rile up so many people, then there is discussion to be had. If you don't want to partake, nobody is stopping you from ignoring the topic. That doesn't give you the right to tell us what and what not to discuss.

Consider this my last resposne on the Escapist forums until they get these crappy advertising captchas out of here. (Not that anyone's going to care but oh well.)

Anyway. It has been said by developers already that DLC is made after the main game is finished. Or content complete. However you want. So, what the heck's wrong with that? Furthermore, unless you people are actually noticing a difference in the quantity and/or quality of content in your games and notice that there is a lot of DLC for it, there is no problem. ME3 is a huge game already.

If prices rise for games and/or DLC then, you know what? DON'T BUY THEM. It's really that simple. Either way, complaining and arguing on forums such as this is NOT going to help anything. The companies are perfectly justified in asking any price they want for their content, whether it's overpriced or not. They can do that.

Make your voices heard with, in this case, your wallet instead of just words. Be a smart consumer. Be a smart poster. Thank you.

I did not buy ME3. My only personal experience with it is via my sister's fiancee's console. But I still got things to say. You're basically telling us to forgo active resistance and stick with the passive.

Well, I'm going with both: "I'm not buying your product and this is why."

How about no? I'll discuss the issue as much as I feel it is worth discussing, thank you very much.
